New to woodworking and was able to follow the instructions in the video the only 2 things I needed to figure out myself was the depth of the holes so my screws would not go through the 3/4 plywood top and the leg cross beams (they are 30" just like the other 3 used in the table) . Grabbed my wood from Home depo and it was so wet that water dripped out each time I used a screw..also. this is not a one day build..i did not give the legs time to dry and the wood glue dripped out..next time I know I need to let it actually dry first. Had a ton of fun and holy hell this thing is heavy..i hope its just the 100 gallons of water and it will dry and lighten up. Thanks for the video!

You could add a piece on the bottom of the table that swings at 90 degrees to the leg assembly and locks it in place. It could be folded underneath the stretcher of the legs
@abdelazizsqualli1004 Жыл бұрын
This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!
@selloutlabel2 жыл бұрын
I think it definitely still needs a stretcher across to keep lega from accidently sliding in. Just add a removable one that can be stored above easily.

Yup, over time everything will loosen up a bit. Maybe even something on the back of the legs to still be out of the way. Sooner or later it will gain slop.

@@ModernBuilds If enough shear force is applied from either end, it could cause the opposite side to buckle for one thing. For example, if you applied enough force, say hand planing, to the left side (camera view), the right side might fold under under the right circumstances. You may not use that bench for hand planing, but one of your viewers might.

@@dirkskep2458 Didn't have any. I saw a similar video and made it to fit me. I'm a 5'6'' woman and I made it to be comfortable for my height and space on the wall for storage. 3'W x6'L x 30"T My best tip is to Buy the casters 1st it will determine the leg height. Make it as long and wide as you want.

I would definitely add a stretcher. Watch the right legs on the "wiggle test" at 5:35, they start creeping inwards. Seems worth it so the table doesn't come unexpectedly come crashing down in the middle of a project.

Please make more candles and tea sized holders. A magazine rack. A short 4' wide sturdy bookcase without nails. (The one I have is 64 years old, no nails, heavy boards, 3 sections on bottom and has never come apart. Built by a 14 year old boy. ) Add to the list: A China hutch circa 1940. Dining room chairs. Tiered floor shelf, 4 shelves. And how to repair a large crack at the front of the bottom shelf, running vertical near left edge. Please. A folding table; many sises. Bed, chair, small child's floor and a 5' long X 3' wide X 13" tall for teens to sit under and has folding legs. (We had a metal one that we wore out.) Add a "real" desk, one with 3 drawers on the left and 4 drawers on the right and a long center drawer. None are made this way today. I love mine, circa 1950's. Add hanging lights, with a slow demonstration of how to put the light box together. Please. Thank you. Have I missed the kitchen remodeling? The gardens? The solar on the house roof? Bus trips or friends using the bus? Thanks for listening. Judy
