This is awesome! I live in a tiny house and need a place to work/play with my knives and paracord. This is perfect

I'm glad you have a video to show the assembly of this wall mount mounted workbench. The web link to this project has an error. It shows plans for a rolling workbench and not this one, that mounts to the wall.

Thanks, I just finished this. I changed a few things. I used a piano hinge to make flatter worksurface. I made the legs fold horizontally so they would not hang down. I made the box 1x6 instead of 1x8 so I could reach the pegboard tools. Wish I could post a picture of it.

Great project! However I recommend 2 1/2" construction screws instead for drywall screws to mount the pegboard frame and cabinet.

Good video and good design however I recommend avoiding drywall screws for any woodworking or home reno that isnt drywall. They break very easily and aren't really made for that weight demand

The metal hinge that is attached to the legs when shut seems like a hazard. It looks sharp and protrudes out. Someone could get hurt on those.
@head5616 Жыл бұрын
You can't use the hinge instructions that advise on the angle at which it is to be installed. You need to shorten one side (& lenthen the other) slightly to get it to fold flat. Video builder did not do this and thus his braces (needed) stick out.

Lol why basic you can make it sturdier. This more for basic work bench for working things in the house if going go hardcore work I would suggest making their larger work bench they have on here.

@JohnLobert6 жыл бұрын
Here's the solution. Folding leg brackets that lock: www.amazon.com/D-H-S-Posi-Lock-Folding-Bracket-Mounted/dp/B00QSHQHHO/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1524085260&sr=1-4&keywords=folding+leg+bracket
@jaredmcnevin73114 жыл бұрын
@@JohnLobert those do work but I've seen "steve ramsey" from "woodworking for more mortals" use those and they seemed a little wobbly
@head5616 Жыл бұрын
I bought similar hinges out of Lowes stock. Installed using proper left / right and adjusting the manufacturer's suggested angle of installation of the hinge slightly and they both fold flush with the leg
@7625319714 жыл бұрын
Forgot to make the edge to clamp things down.
@head5616 Жыл бұрын
This is key - I extended the bench top edges by 2 inches on the three sides without the hinges. It works well and allows easy clamping.

Hopefully your tools don't get shaken off the shelfs when you're hammering away at something
@head5616 Жыл бұрын
Rather than rely on just the vertical wall studs and the 1x2 wall "frame", build two frames. Frame one is a 2x4 frame attached to the wall with 3 1/2 screws. This gives you a wide, thick and stable surface to mount the actual bench assemblies. Then use 2x2 boards in place of the 1x2's to create the pegboard frame. This will create a sturdy platform for the entire bench (and it won't wiggle when finished like the video one does at the conclusion of the video.

@fnaah_au4 жыл бұрын
love how the video blurs out right before you're able to tell that the benchtop isn't parallel with the floor and slopes downwards like a drafting table because you mounted it at the wrong height and/or the legs are too short. Not to mention the brass leg locks sticking out when the bench is folded up.
@TheLunnyBear4 жыл бұрын
If you'd have paid attention you'd have seen the end shot that blurs out, actually starts the video but goes on for longer. Why would he be trying to hide something at the end of a video that he shows at the start.

@Dsoginventor5 жыл бұрын
How do you figure? The one edge is securely hinged and cannot move at all. The legs only offer vertical support, which isn’t much. If the legs aren’t up to your standards, it is an easy task to make them more sturdy.
@fasteddie12414 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't want those hinges on my work surface. maybe try to hinge it from the other side
