Wow! This is the best video showing how to calculate the down for quilt construction. You've answered a lot of my questions. Now all I have to do is start.

Good video. To eliminate the addition step when calculating the overfill you can just multiply by 1.2 to get the overall with the added 20%.

Your videos are truly useful, the karo step design one and this one really helped me in finishing my diy top and underquilt, which i just did. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Saludos

So when will you apply to work in the research and development departments for REI, North Face, or any other outdoor gear company. You were born to be in the R&D group of such a company :)

Thanks for the great videos. I'm considering making 1" thick 50º quilt. I am wondering whether the bag still functions well with the karo step design, or whether the down pushes to the side and vertical baffles would be more suitable? Many thanks :)

How will be the calculation...if a total jkt needs 200 gram of down.

Im loving these videos! I have one question, though: How tall are you? I just want to make sure that your blueprints would work for me as well. Thank you!

I am around 5' 11". I actually just completed the quilt and it pulls up to around the top of my head. It is super roomy!

Where do you buy your down fill?

Check out the downlinens website. They sell down in bulk for a reasonable price.
