DIY GIFT WRAPPING IDEAS & A GLUTEN FREE CHOCOLATE ORANGE BUNDT CAKE// Today Joerg and I are back with some easy DIY Christmas wrapping ideas for you try. The wrapping paper you buy from supermarkets is mostly non-recyclable so why not make your own environmentally friendly using plain brown paper? Even though it takes some time to create your own paper, it's fun and such a personal touch. On top of that, I baked a gluten free chocolate orange bundt cake that is perfect for the festive season. Kirsten, I want you to keep this in your heart, like I have done since I was a little girl...my grandmother taught me that a woman's "true beauty" comes from her thoughts, heart and soul. I was a child with thick coke bottle glasses, red hair, broken front teeth and hand-me-down clothes. I was very shy and smallest child in class. My saving grace was I loved to learn and reading books was my great escape and I had a sharp mind. But recess was terrifying for me because children of all age groups ayed together, so the taunts and meaness were merciless and I didnt know how to defend myself. I didnt tell, I just took it all, believing each comment. My little Irish grandmother came by my school at recess one day....and saw and heard. She was a dignified, perfect lady...but also feisty! She had a beautiful antique vanity set of brush, comb and mirror. That day became a new ritual for us. She would brush my hair, remarking how lovely it was, tell me how my gentle smile and twinkling eyes showed her my loving, happy heart. She would hand me the mirror and say," See your inner beauty in your eyes...eyes are windows to our souls, actions and deeds show true beauty...you, dear child, have such precious beauty, it is like a glowing candle in a dark night. Never let your special light grow dim." ...This memory has stuck with me my whole 66 years of life. I have held it within my heart while walking thru tbe storms and trials of life. I had a partial masectomy in my 50s and had a second cancer last year, with treatments that left me bald. It also caused measle like rashes. I felt my Irish grandma near and caligraphied this on a piece of scrapbook paper, framed it and put it on my vanity..."Beauty from within....Remains a faithful friend." Your beauty, dear Kristen, will always shine and draw the world to you, just like a little candle in a window, welcoming loved ones home.

I am a grateful person and I can see beyond the mere surface due to each challenge or hardship....God's Love guides, protects and forgives. I adapt, grow, trust and find humor and sunshine in midst of each day. I completely agree with you about the environmental reasons for making your own gift wrapping. I make my own also, but to keep it simple I wrap the gift first and then decorate, just the top. This saves a lot of time. But honestly, your are far superior and gorgeous!

It is MORE than ok that you aren't wearing makeup. No need to always be made up for us! It is so nice to see you as a real person, sometimes dressed up and sometimes down, like all of us!!!
