Just did mine, took me 2 hours total. This video help a lot! I used large "tie wraps" instead of a wire snake and it worked perfectly. Cheers!

Hey great vids. If you are going for the stock European look I believe you can re code or something like that the LED headlights to make them brighter. US regulations don't allow our LED lights to be as bright.

Nice vid. Im from Denmark, so LEDs are standard here. Just wanted to inform you that you can match the rear bumper cat eyes to euro R tinted red ones. Official VW for the Rs here in Europe. You seem to like details so just wanted to mention snd they match your rear LEDs They are some EUR 40,- Best regards. Allan

Are the taillights tinted or is that the oem euro color? Some pics I see online are much more red and some are much darker... ( plan on buying some soon...)

I did this a few days ago, i did the same thing you did with the wiring in terms of zip ties, it was dejavú Seeing yours lol. I hated BEC's lack of info and the outdated colors as well and no mentioned of the black trigger wire on were to route it, I ended up just using common sense and as it turns out saw that you routed the black wire in the same manner, I already was familiar with the panels since I installed a rear dashcam but also the coding was a pain since I use VCDS and I already had my US lights coded to use the inner lights as brake light and signal so I had to reverse all of that and although I want to recode to use the inners as brake light again I'm afraid of not having enough contrast between the brake light and turn signals

We had to whip out a whole lot of common sense to make heads or tails of that BEC harness as well. Glad you got yours figured. What are your tails set to now? Brake lights on outer only?

GolfRDad yeah, brake lights on the outers only, because of my previous coding my inners were really bright after install but I was able to fix that. It was my understanding that with the BEC harness it was not possible to have the inners as brake lights as well but I see that you have it like that good to know, I will attempts it after a few months if I get bored :-), also replacing that lower plastic cover it pretty scary because you thing that it will brake as you get those tips near the glass good thing that the plastic bends a bit :-) great video man thanks

why are the wires pre set to make you snake twice? seems like it'd be way easier to snake the wires in the same direction at the same time.

In the before and after footage, is one of the red leds on the right outer light not on? (it looks like it should alternate between yellow and red while signaling like on the left side)

That is some Batman level detective skill. You're right, I just went down to the garage to confirm it. With the parking lights on the passenger side tail in that spot doesn't light red like the driver side. When the brake is pushed it works though. Just on that one LED. I'm honestly not sure if that is a coding or defect issue. Now I have to think about if I can live with it like that!
