I hate sewing patches so I used Badge Magic (well, a knock off) adhesive to fuse Magic patches on my husband's bag, worked awesome. I think it would be great on clothes as well. I love the rough sewn look on the non adhesive ones, a contrasting thread could be cute for that too

This is a pretty late comment but if you like and value your enamel pins, it's a great idea to buy a bunch of locking pin backs. They lock to the pin with an allen screw, which replaces the (usually) cheaply made sliding backer. Makes it pretty much impossible to drop/lose any enamel pins.

Love it, you look badass in that thing! For my vest I went completely DIY and made my own patches. Just make some stencils and use fabric paint.

Awssome it's good to show people to diy! Back in the day I use to go crazy with patches, now I still studded things here and there, I never had a problem washing my vests in the washer, but I also use to double up the thread extra thick to sew patches on

I find its actually easier to thread a needle if you bend a small amount of thread over to make a tight loop and push that through the hole. It's a bit bigger, but also stiffer and more likely to slip on through rather than bend and spring out and spring away if you have a near miss.

Tip from a gothy punk use dental floss instead it looks more DIY, it's very very cheap and it is much stronger then thread

I've already bought those patches online and planning to add it on my vest but once I see your tutorial on how to sew it, then I realize how complicated or hard will it be, is there an alternative method to add the patches besides sewing?

Liquid stitch (fabric glue) or safety pins are other methods some people use

How would you clean it without ruining it?

You would need to either spot clean it using hand-washing (avoiding getting any of the metal hardware wet) or take it to the dry cleaners. I stick to outerwear for these kinds of projects since it doesn’t need to be washed as often as other clothes.
