You did a great job! I love to watch your videos, when you make things, I feel like you are always working hard at making a good home for your little family. I will tel you how I use to get my kids to take naps, I would put on baby Bach and calm the whole house, then if they weren’t settling down, I’d say, if you hold your eyes shut and be very quiet for ten minutes, then you can get up, they never got up, they always fell asleep before the ten minutes were up, also since I’m telling my tricks, I also got my kids to eat and I got them to love everything by telling them if they took 1 bite of something they’re said they didn’t like, then they didn’t have to eat it at all, over time since they had tried things, they started to like it and they all, all 5 love most all vegetables, really most everything that’s put in front of them.

Sandi Aldridge I did my bathroom after watching Karrie do it in her mobile home. It came out great and I get so many compliments. My girls' dad has sold laminate countertops and said he couldn't tell the difference. 😊 Have you done yours?

Sweet Tee I just let the primer dry, maybe an hour or so. As for the colors, since they go on so lightly, you really don't need drying time, and it's easy to coverup something if you don't like it. One thing I did that Karrie didn't, was to lightly sand between the coats of polycrylic, and I think I did 3-4 coats. I saw that on another video, but not doing so, hasn't seemed to affect Karrie's projects, so it may have been overkill. 😉

Best faux granite I've seen! Beautiful! But, you might have added a wider inch+ wood trim all around the edge to make it look like a thick slab of granite to match countertops.

Very nice! I used one of the granite countertop kits but now I know I could have used any paint that I wanted. I did not do a great deal of prep on my old 'butcher block' formica. Eventually, I had small dings, then I painted over the granite with 'black chalk paint' and that lasted for several years before I am now having a custom countertop made and using epoxy undercoat, then the granite fake paints, and am going to use the resin epoxy for the top coat. Thanks for the tutorial; I needed a refresher course!

I have to tell you how much you inspire me.... in one of your last two videos you spoke about the stage of your life that you are in and how you try not to compare yourself to bigger KZbinrs, that hit home for me. I watch a lot of those bigger channels and always spend more than what I should trying to make my home look like theirs. So you know what I have been doing this week, I have been cleaning our backyard and working with what I have, to make it look appealing and I have stopped nagging my husband about that expensive new patio/ deck I wanted built!!! This looks great! I first found you from this video and I just want to say this really does look like stone. It looks amazing with your other countertops too. I mean, you can tell they’re not the same stone but pretty darn close!! Looks like you just chose to use a different stone for the island 😊. My husband and I have been renovating a 119 yr old farmhouse and took it to the studs and theirs just not money in the budget for new countertops. This is a great alternative! Great job! 😊

AMAZING job!! Have had a Gianni box to do this for probably 5 years and have been afraid to try it!! But, I think I'll forego the Gianni, and just go with your method with the paints. The Gianni method takes such a long time to dry and cure, that that was part of my hesitation and after seeing your method, yours seems so much quicker in the drying time. Wow! the countertop came out great!❤️ I did something like this before with two different color paint on my dining room table. I first paint the table beige and let it dry then apply the second color white paint then put a clear plastic on the wet paint on the table. I then a use a roller on top of the plastic then pull it off while still wet and it will give it a nice granite/marble design. You can do it with three colors if you wanted too.

we just did the contact paper to our kitchen (we had PINK countertops ugh). I wish I would have done what you just did! The contact paper isn't going to last forever so I will try your technique when I have to take this stuff off. Thank you for showing how you did this. It looks awesome!!!
