Definitely a British design. Looking at where the pump seals to the oil pan, I knew that oil would drip on the fresh sealant during installation. When you were performing the final 90 deg. step and mentioned how the ratchet was flexing, all I could think about was that one lonely tooth locking the flywheel.

I was thinking the same thing! That one tooth is holding 400 to 600nm of torque. I need to get a breaker bar I can fit a pipe onto so I can do the final 90° better. But holy crap that was a lot of work just to tighten that bad boy.

After you have done more than a few of these, do you find that you must remove the seal? You mention it during the video it is a good idea, but you make it look pretty simple to walk the pump off the shaft. That seal puller is kind of neat and all, but looks like it won't see much use.

I remove the seal every time. I follow the manual as close as possible.

I'm very happy to have found your video on the 3.0 diesel, I own a 2019 3.0L f150 second engine, the first had a crank shaft problem the bearing that he explained to me...🙄🤣

Awesome vid, is it worth doing these pumps when you do the timing belt? they look pretty robust. maybe every second time you do the belt?

Do it with the belt. They are known in the JLR world to cause slow to build pressure on cold start. It's only a little more work if your doing a belt. JLR and Ford use the exact same part number so it's gonna be a Ford problem as well.
