Today we will be doing F-150 Powerstroke Front Timing Belt Replacement. We did this in our driveway to show that it CAN be done with out removing the cab. This job is a 10 out of 10 on the hard scale. Failure to do it correctly will result in engine damage as this is a interference engine. This is not for the faint of heart, a $8000 to $10,000 engine is in the balance. #fyp #f16
I have put together a Parts list for the Front Belt with a Oil Pump replacement and a parts list for the Rear Belt. There will be be both a Ford Part Number and Land Rover Part number for some items. This list will be updated as more parts are found.
I have also made a Google Drive Folder with all the R&R information for the Timing Belts. PLEASE FOR THELOVE OF GOD read it and fully understand it BEFORE trying to do this job. All torque specs will be found in the WSM pages in the Google Drive link. You should be able to print or download the sections. #fyp

Definitely not easy but not to bad. I did sleep in the next day 🥱 😂. It would be 100 times easier and faster not recording it. But the 3.0 guys were asking for a timing belt video. I feel like I kinda went overboard on the details but any less I don't think would have been good..

Wow, amazed at the complexity of the cam sprockets in the whole entire timing Set up. I bet you That tensioner pulley is a real quagmire if you don’t know what you’re doing. Hey Cody, do you know if the DCR is available for a 2020 and up 6.7, And who’s the best supplier to get it from then the plan is to go to Detroit and have it installed.

@@dieseldave21 we have been installing them on 20-22 since they were released. The one line needs a sigh bend in it but that's it. I'll be in Detroit the 15th-new years 😉 The timing on these 3.0 is not to bad. It's about as bad as my VW.

Cody, found you from Ray’s channel. Have a 2016 RR with the TD6 and luckily have not had to do too much to it. Was wondering if you had put a disaster prevention kit on one of these 3.0 engines? I put one on my 6.7, but was really wanting to put something on the 3.0 to protect the fuel system.
@CPsGarage
@CPsGarage 5 ай бұрын
Welcome to the channel!!! I actually have a RR coming over this weekend for belts!! I'm actually looking for a RR and Discovery 3.0. I'm actually starting to prototype one since S&S doesn't want to come up with one. I'll be using the S&S 6.7 one as a base then modify it to work with the 3.0. I need a 3.0 here in central Florida to try it on.

@@CPsGarage Yea I kinda figured that there would have to be some modifications made to make it work. I am going to do my oil change this weekend and I am going to try to take a closer look and see how the CP-4 is plumbed. I have only really changed the oil and did brakes on the RR.

I am so glad I have a Toyota 4.2 non turbocharged. Reliable as the day is long. They are having trouble with dayco tbelts breaking at 60,000 klm where-as Toyota recommendations are 150,000, 7luseing Genuine parts incl. water pump and tensioer and pulley atst. You shouldn't mess with that engine as it is an interference engine and if you get it wrong all of the valves will hit the pistons and turn into a very shitty day. Sounds like the 3l f150 is the same deal but way mor complex , yikes. Give me a f100 with a 351 any day if I remotely was to consider a bullet proof Ford 4x4. Thank you so much for your video . Look forward to you doing other stuff too.
