I love your DIY's, Steph! Thanks for emphasizing the sustainability of the red palm oil- especially important for this one, with the fast destruction of orangutan habitat. So sad. Neem is so horribly stinkky!! I love it though. I've been using it on my scalp and face!

I was so excited about a habitat friendly brand! I wasn't getting anything with palm oil anymore because of the habitat disasters happening... I purchased one off amazon and they sent me an expired jar though.. it expired on dec. 18 2015. I know that's not too long ago but I was wonder if you know if it is still good to use on hair and for how long. thanks so much!
@StephArizona
@StephArizona 8 жыл бұрын
I'm happy how they are habitat friendly too :) Nutiva is the only brand I buy this oil from for that reason. hmm that's strange! maybe you can contact the seller and let them know. if you want to keep it, maybe check the smell and if it has any mold or something unusual about it. if it were me and it looked decent I would use it only if I were unable to get a replacement one online because of the expiration.
@tabithagreco4482
@tabithagreco4482 8 жыл бұрын
+Steph Arizona They are sending me a replacement, yay amazon :P, but the one I have has no rancid smell actually smells like pumpkins! the top of it was very light super bright orange colour to it but when I scraped of the top it was a deeper colour orange with a softer consistency. But that more solid and lighter orange colour seems like its going down mostly into the center. Does this sound familiar to you at all :S ??

+Steph Arizona can you leave just the red Palm oil in by itself that long
@StephArizona
@StephArizona 8 жыл бұрын
+mustache pikachu I wouldn't recommend leaving it in for that long only for the simple reason that you might stain your clothes because the red color of the red palm oil can easily stain things. But if you would like to do that and are not worried about staining anything, it shouldn't be a problem.

Steph Arizona it's got benefits tho. In my country Nigeria, hairdressers use it for people's hair to help it grow.

this does stop shedding right?
@StephArizona
@StephArizona 8 жыл бұрын
I've found for me, this stops excessive shedding from problems like dandruff, scalp psoriasis or scalp issues. Hair fall is natural but this is meant to reduce excessive shedding

Neem oil's scent will always outweigh the benefits for me. I'd take the powder version any day. That stuff is hard to wash out of thick kinky coily hair and smells like burnt peanuts and various other stinky things.
