Add a little sour cherry or current sauce to the cauldrons would make them over the top, plus it would give extra taste to the tapioca. Thanks for such a great tutorial.

For the popcorn mummy idea: What I would do is first fully dip the popcorn balls I'm either brown or white chocolate, let it cool, then put the chocolate strips on bc it is very hard to see the strips with what you did :P
@BrendaSoto5 жыл бұрын
I didn’t want mine to have too much chocolate but that’s a great idea!

Or you could just make Rice Krispie treats and shape them into balls. This would allow the white chocolate bandages to show.

These all look great. Is there a link to the recipes?? There are no quantities listed anywhere. How much butter? How much popcorn? Marshmallows, etc....
@BrendaSoto3 жыл бұрын
I don't have a written recipe as I usually "eye-ball" the amount. However, judging from the video, to make 5 mummy popcorn balls: one tablespoon butter (unsalted or salted, you're choice, I used unsalted) 1 1/2 cup mini marshmallows 4 heaping cups popped popcorn 1 white chocolate bar Black gel icing Lollipop sticks 1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter then add the marshmallows and stir until they have melted. 2. Next add the popcorn and stir until evenly coated. 3. Remove mixture from heat and let it cool slightly, should be warm not hot. 4. Apply a flavorless oil to your clean hands or gloved hands to prevent the mixture from sticking to you. Form the popcorn-marshmallow mixture into balls. Then insert a lollipop stick into each popcorn ball. 5. Break the white chocolate bar into a bowl, melt in the microwave in ten second intervals, stirring in-between until completely melted. Or melt using double boiler method. 6. Transfer melted chocolate into a squeeze bottle or a zip-lock bag then cut off the tip or simply use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate onto the popcorn ball. Aim to make strips around the popcorn ball. Let chocolate harden. 7. Finally, add two big eyes onto the popcorn ball using the black gel icing.

I love the cauldron idea. I can't wait to try it. How long should I wait for the melted chocolate to cool before dipping the cleaned blown up balloons in it? I can't remember if you said how long to refrigerate the dipped balloons before adding the tapioca filling? If not, how long should that be? Last question is can I leave the dipped balloons in chocolate overnight in the fridge? If so, does it need to be loosely covered? Thanks, Ting
@BrendaSoto3 жыл бұрын
- I waited for about a minute, the candy melts should be warm not hot. They can always be remelted if needed. - Refrigerate the dipped balloons for 20 minutes or you can leave them out to harden at room temperature but it may take longer around 30-40 minutes. - I would remove the balloons first before storing the chocolate bowls overnight. The bowls should be kept in an airtight container. If your environment is cool enough, they don't have to be refrigerated. If you'd like to refrigerate then do so be placing them in an airtight container and separate with a paper towel so it prevents any condensation build up. Hope this helps! 🎃
@tingleong87733 жыл бұрын
@@BrendaSoto Thanks for responding to my questions. I have couple of more questions below for you. 1) How many cups of black candy melts did you use? 2) How much teaspoons of vegetable shortening did you use when melting with the black candy melts? 3) How many ballons does this make? Have a happy halloween. Thanks, Ting
@BrendaSoto3 жыл бұрын
I can’t answer these questions with accuracy because I didn’t measure. I simply melted a handful of the candy melts with a little bit of shortening at a time until I got the consistency desired, not too thick or too runny. If they’re too runny, add a little more candy melts. If they’re too thick, add a little more shortening.
@tingleong87733 жыл бұрын
Okay. No worries about the exact measurements. Thanks for the answers.

Did you temper your white chocolate for the mummy's, or did you put it in the fridge to harden?
@BrendaSoto3 жыл бұрын
I didn't temper, just melted them. Then placed them in the fridge to harden.

What is the green stuff in the witches cauldron?
@BrendaSoto5 жыл бұрын
Tapioca dyed green. It can easily be switched with pudding or jello if preferred.

I've never seen a white spider. For those who prefer black marshmallow spiders, get black candy melts and make the legs the same way as seen in this video but dip marshmallows in black candy melts and let harden before placing them on top of the legs. Then do everything else as seen in this video. If you want the spiders to look even better. Buy some white cotton candy and place some in a cupcake paper, add a dab of melted candy melts and place the spider on top. If you don't want to use a cupcake paper, then you can do what I did. I took a cookie that was large enough to put the cotton candy and spider on top of and I dipped it in the black candy melts and let it harden. Then I added the cotton candy and marshmallow spider on top of that so that everything was edible. You can make this same recipe with mini marshmallows and they are so cute and easy to pop right in your mouth. I have another idea for candy spiders that is really easy. I bought a pack of Rolo chocolate Carmel candies, a bag of chocolate candy melts and a little bits white candy melts. I melted the chocolate candy melts and drew legs on wax paper and set a Rolo on top of each while it was still wet. I let it harden and melted a few white chocolate candy melts for the eyes 👀. I used a toothpick and added a dab of the white and then a smaller dab of the same chocolate I used for the legs, and there you have it a brown chocolate candy spider. You can do the same thing with this spider as I mentioned above, or you can use them to decorate a cake or a chocolate chip cookie, YUM! Let your imagination be your guide, there is so much that you can do. I'm going to make Halloween cookie houses out of graham crackers and melting chocolates. Kind of like the witches candy house in Hansel and Gretel. I hope I have helped some of you with some Halloween ideas. A BIG THANK YOU to Brenda Soho for the great ideas in this video. Happy Halloween all! 🦇🕷🐺🍬🍫🍭🐀👻☠️👺

If you use parchment paper instead of waxed paper it would peel off with no problem. It’s actually parchment that non-stick. 😉
@BrendaSoto5 жыл бұрын
Both are nonstick but only parchment paper is heat resistant making it ideal for baking. Either would work in this case.
