For myself: Crochet ribbing to fit waist. Hdc around next rnd Put stitch markers across from each other. Increase every ODD rnd in these marked stitches. Hdc around in every EVEN stitch.

So I understand you only inc in every other row, but the 2nd row that gets the inc (3rd row overall) which stitch do you put the inc in? The first or second stitch increased ?

Hi I made my first skirt from your pattern the last 2 days It was too tight It's hot here in the southwest, so I put a bathing suit on put the skirt on it took a shower to stretch it out, 11:03 now the waistband is too loose hips are fine....The waistband is too loose How can I tighten this? Oh FYI I have not finished the trim on the skirt was going to add another color to the accent color because I've got actually three or four accent colors but how can I make a like drawstring or whatnot?

So when we’re making the waistband, the length should be whatever our waist measurement is right? For example my waist is 31 inches so my waistband needs to be that length? I’m just a little confused because I know for the hip measurement across the numbers are different depending on what size you are, for example if you’re 40 inch hip size then the skirt will be 20 inches flat across. But idk if that also applies to the waistband too

Yes, the waistband would be the length of your waist. The increasing you do on the odd rows makes the hip size of the skirt bigger (if that makes sense?). So you'd do 31 inches for the waistband, and increase on however many odd rows you need to get the hip size. Make sure that you try on the waistband as you're going through to make sure it will fit, I like to close it together with some stitch markers and pull it up past my legs to make sure it isn't too small for my hips.

You would usually use slip stitch crochet.

every stitch around :) make sure you measure every once in a while so you know the skirt will fit. (would hate to frog the rows if it gets too big or is too small )
