I have an Aims 12v/4000w single phase inv/chrg and it's working great so far. I just don't have the inet interface and graphical view of what's going on.

Good to know that the Aims is working out for you. My Aims is an older inverter with no charging capability, strictly a backup inverter, not for continuous use, it's about 5 or 6 years old.

So how do you like the Conext SW vs the Magnum? If you have some time it would be nice to do a vid on them vs each other. I just got the Conext XW+ 6848. I liked all of the webinars on the Conext from Schneider.

That's a nice deal. Wish i would have found one like that before buying my mppsolar inverter, though i haven't had any issues with it.

Thanks for the comments, there have been some good reviews of this inverter, I've seen at least 2 bad reviews, 1 that was unfairly biased, and one that was from someone that had a bad experience with their tech support. But overall, like yourself there many folks that really like them and have had no problems with them. Seems like a good inverter, I just wanted to stick with a brand I'm more familiar with.

I got the same inverter. Did you run the AC power IN to the inverter as well. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the AC In / Charger feature or this inverter. Will it work and inverter power from battery WITHOUT AC in? Is it possible to set it up so it is ONLY a charger and not running the whole house if the batteries hit low voltage cut off? I really dont want to run another #8/3 split phase wire from the load panel to the inverter to power the charger.

How come you didnt notice that in the first 6 minutes, the video is upside down? Looking at a bunch of important numbers from the back of the units is kind of confusing if they are displayed upside down. Not proffesional.

Hey Bro, Does your inverter hummm loud and small vibration if you place your hand on the cover when it's under load, say 600-800watts? Mine I can hear it 25ft away when it's underload and when I place my hand on it, I can feel it's vibrating a bit...
@rhandsom
@rhandsom 7 жыл бұрын
No I can't say that I have, although the fan comes on there is what I consider to be the standard hum of electronic equipment and fan noises, other than that I hear and feel nothing outside of the ordinary.

Thanks for making this video, I am looking into getting the Conext and you video is great. Wish the video quality was higher though, especially for the web controlling part, could see more details. So does all the load in your house get connected to the Inverter output? or only partial?

I see. What I meant to ask is, do you connect this inverter to your main panel, then pull the load line that you want to run out of your main panel and hook it up to this inverter? Or did you ran new line into your home? Also, how does the inveter know when to invert power, base on battery voltage or state of charge? Thanks for replying...
@rhandsom
@rhandsom 7 жыл бұрын
This inverter is connected by the 240AC output into a sub panel that houses all of my 120V AC circuits. I have 2 breaker panels, 1 that has all 240 AC circuits and 1 that has all 120 VAC circuits, see link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmqrZYKwhdmaiMU Also, since I don't have the battery monitor accessory, with the inverter is in AC Support (Grid Support) mode, the inverter will invert based on voltage. This is setup through the web interface in the Combox.

Hi, Does your inverter fans run all the time at full speed even though there's a small load? noisy?
@rhandsom
@rhandsom 7 жыл бұрын
devildestiny555 the inverter does really well, I haven't noticed any excessive fan running noises, but bare in mind, I have a crawl space ventilation fan running in that room 24/7 which is very noisy in itself, so I wouldn't notice. This inverter seems to be very well built, and is designed for continuous running. In my opinion it ranks in the top 5 inverters available in market. I was extremely fortunate to find this at the price I got it.

Thanks for your question. I have a lot of parts and pieces so I'll try and give you some of the basics of what I have, however the AC wiring is complex and requires an electrician or an electrical background because everything is wired into the home through a sub-panel. The solar (DC) wiring is pretty straight forward based on instructions that come with the charge controllers, inverters, etc. But here is a listing to give you an idea of what I have have, please bare in mind that it's a simple list to give you an idea of what it takes to put a similar system in place: (As systems go, you may find other systems or ways to do it that are far less complex) 1.) Schneider Conext SW4024 Inverter\Schneider 2.) Schneider Conext ComBox 3.) 30' of 4/0 AWG Welding cable 4.) 1 Morningstar 600V Mppt Charge Controller 5.) 1 Midnite Classic 250 Mppt Charge Controller 6.) Cole Hersee M-750 Master Battery Selector Switch 7.) Blue Sea Systems 187-Series Circuit Breakers (250A) 8.) 3/8" Heavy-Duty Copper Lug, 4/0 Ga (Lugs for 4/0 Welding cable) 9.) Optional - Maxwell 3000F Ultra-Capacitors (BCAP3000 P300 K04 -> x12 for 24V System) 10.) Battery Bank - approximately 450Ah (Nickel Iron/ Nickel Cadmium cells) 11.) TriMetric 2020 Battery Monitor (Old Model) 12.) 30A Double Pole Double Throw circuit breaker 13.) MIDNITE SOLAR MNSPD-600, THE 600V SURGE PROTECTOR DEVICE 14.) 30 AMP 600VDC SINGLE THROW SOLAR DISCONNECT SWITCH 3P 15.) RELIANCE TRC1005-P1 TRANSFER SWITCH (100A/50A) 16.) SolarWorld 285 Watt Solar Panel, Sunmodule SW285 Black Mono V4.0 Frame - 5 Busbar 17.) Renogy 250W Black Mono Solar Panels 2.5kW 18.) Blue Sea Systems Class T Fuses (250A for battery bank) .

Some inverters with grid zero mode use 1 amp from grid the rest from batteries does this one do this ? Is it 100% guaranteed it won’t feed the grid?
@rhandsom
@rhandsom 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments. This unit is guaranteed to not back feed the grid. It is UL Certified and sold by Schneider Electric, a company that is a major player in the power industry.

Yes, this inverter use 2 amps from grid and the rest from batteries. It is called AC Support, very similar to grid zero. Grid zero is a trade mark for Outback as AC support for schnider

What features does the Conext give you over the MagnaSine ?
@rhandsom
@rhandsom 7 жыл бұрын
To compare you can use the "The Magnum Energy MSH4024RE Inverter" specs, www.wholesalesolar.com/cms/magnum-msh4024re-inverter-specs-2200759146.pdf - Essentially, the Conext SW 4024 is a much cheaper system, that also gives you 120v/240v capability, the Magnum hybrid only gives you 120v. There are other differences, but it would take me some time break it all down. Here is the sheet for the Conext SW 4024 www.wholesalesolar.com/cms/schneider-xantrex-schneider-conext-sw4048-na-inverter-charger-120-240vac-specs-4062113898.pdf
