Cornstarch does work, I have made it before. Also cinnamon! Leaves a scent for a long time!

Could you use the clear gesso to make the texture paste so that the paste dries clear?

Thanks for the recipes. I have looked up recipes from others who shared. I can not remember which ones, but they did work at that time. 🙃😊 I will let you know when I get a chance to use your recipes.

Hi Karen! Here come the questions! Lol 😆 😁🙃 Do these need to be stored somewhere special? Such as a dark areas or refrigerator? How do you know when to use store bought Gesso to your homemade Gesso? Wow that's only 3 questions! 😱 What's wrong with me? Lol 😆 Whoops! There goes the 4th question! 😆 🤣 🙃 TFS! I just love that you owned a pig! I'm kinda envious! I thought a little pot belly pig would be fun, not a full grown big pig! Our house wouldn't hold it and we have no barn. The lake area coop probably would complain to. We can't put up clothes lines as it detracts from the beauty of the lake! That's my only complaint living out here. I just love the smell of sheets that I'd hung out to dry. I miss that. Oh well it's give and take. I love looking out the back and seeing the lake, fish jumping or eagles and other birds out flying around looking for food! 🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜

Heehee I look forward to your questions Geri! I just keep mine on a shelf in my craft room, I would keep them away from direct sunlight though, other than that just store as you would any glue or paint product. Do you mean when would I add extra gesso to the texture paste? If your texture paste starts to get too firm to spread smoothly and easily then I would add a bit of extra gesso or mod podge or just a wee bit of water to soften it up again. The clear gesso I make is pretty runny and I've never had it go too thick to use so far. So white gesso (which I add to texture paste) is more like a really thick paint, it doesn't go clear when it dries, but may be slightly translucent . And clear gesso is more like a thin glue, it has no pigment in it so it does dry clear. Both can be used to prep a surface for artwork but only use clear gesso for gluing lightweight stuff like tissue 💜 In answer to your 4th question - there's nothing wrong with you as far as I can tell so far 😂 Ah yes, I've lived in places with co-op rules too, it is a balancing act between the rules and the beauty for sure, but then it's the rules that keep the place beautiful right? I think I could almost put up with following the rules to live in such a beautiful place by a lake with all the wildlife 😃😘💜💜💜
