Yes, bending over and caulking the baseboards all day can give you an ache in the back. I discovered, just because it happened to be there, that the small rolling stool, used in the garage for working on vehicles, really helped on the back. Also has a nice shelf for supplies. Just remember to clean the wheels before putting on your new floor.

We purchased the X5 to spray our fencing before we built it and it worked great. We sprayed over 500 feet of pine pickets and all the 4x4s and 2x4s needed to build the fence and it turned out nice. In fact, we laid all of our wood out to dry for about a month then sprayed it all in the backyard before we did anything else. People who see our fence think it is cedar but it is plain old pine pickets sprayed with redwood stain and then sealed. It has been up for almost 5 years so far and it looks brand new even today. Great work on the house. BTW, the lowest quote on our fence replacement from local guys was 12K for 475 feet with one walk-through gate 4 foot wide and two 10 foot double swing gates (one on each side of the house. We did the entire thing for 6K and that included the framing nailer, paint sprayer, cement, and all the nails. It took about a month to put in but worth it.

Now pay for liability insurance, business license, and contractor fees from county, and you'll see why they wants 12k. Honestly Kevin anything you do yourself will always be cheaper. You're not going to sue yourself if something were to not be to your liking.

Great video. Ive painted houses for 25 years and spray as much as possible. Covering everything is slow, but spraying is 100% faster than brushes and rollers. 1 thing i noticed it all the blue tape! Its expensive. I only use it around the perimeter of the floor. Use cheaper white masking tape everywhere else. Paper Seams, vinyl windows, tubs, counter tops. Anywhere it will not walked on. If you are spraying paint it will not bleed through regular old cheap masking tape. Blue tape adds up.

No way how many hours did you spend masking and taping and removing
@drewcama24882 жыл бұрын
@@jaybee1930 I get this type of question a lot. The masking takes a little more time than cutting in edges would. The upside is you only mask once and almost any one can apply masking tape and paper. The biggest problem is drywall dust, I cant vacuum and dust enough. Your going to have over spray sometimes some where. Wait 5 minutes. Role off the over spray drip with a paint roller and respray.

I usually spray doors, casing and trim.Walls and ceiling usually roll, you need or should back roll it anyways. Graco has a roller attachment if you want to save time. I took the advice from some pro painter on youtube years ago.I think he's in South Dakota maybe Idaho. Using a sprayer for walls is just to get the product on faster even exterior walls should be back rolled or you risk the paint not bonding Just not worth the risk of not back rolling

I have the X7 too it's pretty nice for 5 gal buckets. I see those ones like the X5 all over and even super high end ones at sherwin williams that cost more than the x7 they are the same form factor. Maybe they take up less space in the work van or something not sure why someone would go with it over the one on the caddy.

We found that if you put the hose into the 5 gallon container and then place your X5 on top of the closed 5 gallons, and then bring the handle up over the two legs of the X5 and kind of tuck them in there it all becomes one little package that is much easier to move around you just grab the handle of the 5 gallon container, which has everything attached to it, and move it around.

I have a question y'all: why do flooring first, then tape/mask it all, then paint? Why not remove flooring, paint, then install flooring? Masking/taping fresh floors just seems like an extra step.

I think because they were installing baseboard over the flooring, and wanted to paint the walls and baseboard at the same time.
