Kristina Ingersoll so I have a question. I bleached my hair and then i toned it but my hair was still yellowish brassy. Can I just permanently color my hair the color that I like? Will that get rid of the yellow and brass?

I actually like the lighter color on you. You look great with the dark but I think blonde suits you just as well and I really like it. I don't think you should cut your hair shorter, maybe just get a trim. You really did do an amazing job! I have to admit, I tried the same lightener that you tried and I actually did not like it and I found it tends to leave the hair more brassy and it burned my scalp. I usually use the Paul Mitchell Syncro Lift, it's very gentle on the hair, it's made of potato starch and it lifts pretty good. Also, you are right, the bleach needs to stay moist and one trick is, after you apply it halfway through, I mix a new batch and reapply on top of the previous one and it reactivates it and stops it from drying and not working. One more thing, try not to choose a 6 if you want to go lighter because sometimes since the hair is more porous and cuticle is open it will grab and could have ended up looking like a 4-5, which would have brought you back to where you started. Can't wait to see your next video.

Girl I did NOT expect you to be able to correct the orange. It also helps that you have a warm undertone to your skin, so you can pull off warm hair very well. Here’s a tip for anyone who found that toner didn’t help neutralize their hair enough: Try Joico Dark Envy mask. The dark green color will neutralize those dark orange and reddish tones. Blue shampoo doesn’t help anywhere near as much as dark green. I promise you will love the results. My daughter finds that she doesn’t even need toner when she touches up her highlights because of this hair mask. It is definitely worth the price. I think they have a travel size too for $7 if you want to try it out.

Your end result looks great. I bleached my hair for the first time.juat some tips, you should have used a color corrector to remove the previous dye. Then you wouldn't have has to bleach your hair so many times, plus foils help soo much. I only had to do it once to get my hair to the lightest blonde you got your hair. My hair is a level 5 naturally.

I don't know if anyone has already said it, but the blonde you got after the third bleach(when u bleached the roots), in my opinion, looked REEALLY great on you. Great to see someone do this process who has grey roots but is young! I’m only 25 and also have lots of grey at the roots and temples and it’s so annoying but my dad started going grey at 18 so I guess it is genetic!

First off I absolutely LOVE the end result. You did an amazing job, and didn’t give up halfway through. Your hair is thick, and long it held up well through the process. The stretchiness you felt is completely normal when bleaching. I bleached my hair once, and gave up because it was orange. So I just dyed it back to dark brown. Right now I’m considering trying to go blonde again. Since I never got to.

You did a good job considering you did it yourself and your hair was super dark and it was even red before! Finola No Yellow has been the best toning shampoo I’ve used. Also, you should use a product like Olaplex or something similar in your bleach and in your toner every time you color. I went from red to blonde and that’s how my hair is not fried. Also, I don’t heat style.

Thanks for answering my previous question. One other question I have is when I am first starting to bleach my hair from dark brown, do I use toner after each bleaching session, or do I only use toner when my hair reaches that pale yellow stage? Like if my hair ends up orange do I just condition the crap out of it and leave it orange for a week before re bleaching it again? Thanks so much for your help.

It wasn’t wrong at all hon, it’s just hard to do that much hair at that length by your self and the key is to get it just the right the first time, Lots of bleach 30vol don’t let it dry on the hair or it stops working and also wrap it up soon as possible for some heat. That length and volume of hair usually takes two persons helping out to do it fast at one time. You did awesome.

@Dam-i_Tries5 жыл бұрын
i see that the video is uploaded long ago, but more like maybe advice to someone else who will die its hair--> as a person who used to die a lot its hair in my past few years and ended up cutting it (it was not that damaged but the feeling of not having my curls cuz of the colors and it, ti just doesn't feel as healthy as when not bleached/colored) 1. It depends on how thin you hair is and how dry.. etc. It is good to make treatment before bleaching because after you burn it, it will be no return point- i haven't burned my hair, but i ended up with some elastic baby hairs -> which is almost burned but still not falling apart. 2. If you have already colored your hair with a perm. color use a color remover (this doesn't work for henna) or if its not perm, mix: baking soda, vitamin c powder and baby shampoo, wash as much as its needed until the color stops falling. **this both things will feel like drying your hair, but its still a better way than trying to bleach it with a color on it. I have used both ways because i had berm red color wich i removed and the color removers leave you with better-looking color in-betweens than the bleach. And i also had colors like purple cian blue and dark blue(*****dark blue will always leave a green tint and you will always have to tone it from time to time or cut it. even if you think its gone next time you put color it will reveal itself****) 3. After removing the color you can make any mask you want, basically any oil masks also remove colors, i used special masks and just olive oil. No need to waste money on masks olive oil works the best. I was not able to reach coconut oil in my country but i know people use that too. 4. VERY IMPORTANT STEP :D try on a little part of your hair everything that you will do to see how it will go. AND THEN to it to your whole hair if you are happy with the result... 5. After your hair is bleached, any color that you put, it will take like 2 shades darker, because the hair is like a full sponge and after you remove the color it will soak anything. That's also why bleached hair stays much longer wet, because it soaks water and for normal healthy hear water goes more around the hairs than soaking into them. So pick a color 2 shade lighter than the one you aim to, and AGAIN try a piece and then. I would be glad if i helped =)

Hi chloé No is not going to fade is permanent keep your roots like that and do balayage! And never use permanent a a toner Im a professional cosmetologist it was so interesting your video! And yes you should do with foils it helps for havin even aplication...and the bleach alittle more wet yust remeber like sour cream the conscience of bleach...and now that you have permanent IF you want to go more blonde I think you have 2 options one use the PCR packet for removing permanent color if want to lift use 20vol If you want to just remove use water it sais the instructions on the packet...option 2 use bleach again with 20 vol but samw thing 1 inch away from roots and then go back to roots...live it until u decide can be 15 or 20 or 25 min or even 35 min depending on the level you want go! Awww you're so sweet thanks for giving me (and everyone watching hehe) that information!! :)) I know you were probably cringing the whole time haha! I guess I like to learn from my mistakes haha! & I was so discouraged when I realized I had used a permanent color to "tone" lol I couldn't believe it! I don't know why it didn't' click when I was doing it! Anyways, I'm going to get the olaplex no3 from Sephora, I just don't know if all the kits I see on amazon.ca are legit, since on olaplex's website they seem to say only authorizes retailers are able to sell it? if you know where I can buy the real thing without a cosmetology license let me know! :) But yeah I will probably end up doing a balayage in a few weeks, I'll treat my hair really nice in the mean time hehe! Thank you so much again for your advice, I really appreciate it!!! And thanks for watching my videos for so long omg!!! :)) Hope you have a great night!! 😘😘😘

But don't bleach twice a day and don't wash your hair before, it's better when it's dirty

You would look STUNNING as a redhead! Seriously you have a beautiful skin tone for ginger hair ( not many people can pull it off and a lot of people are a bit eeewww ginger until they try it mines natural but you could rock it ) For my hair I mix jojoba coconut and Macedonia oil and soak my hair over night once a week and use a hair serum and it really helps to make it healthier

Please note that one is *not* advised to cover bleach, or any chemical dye, with a plastic bag (or anything)!! That can actually be dangerous, leading to bad allergic reaction, and also bad results due to the warming effect. So anyone advising that would be badly wrong. I love dyeing my hair too, so not trying to discourage you at all, but just FYI.

Just a thought: you can bleach your hair with 10 vol as well as with 20,30... the difference is that it will take more time but the lightning process will be less agressive. With hair colours is different.. here the 10vol don’t lift only deposit.

If you would've used a 30 vol and section correctly with foils, you would've gotten a better lift and a much better result. Your bleach and developer ratio should've been a bit thicker (2 scoops lightener to 1 scoop of developer like pancake consistency),so it could saturate the hair strands more. Great job at starting at the ends and not the roots and great job at not getting that T18 toner. I think you should've went one more round of bleach before toning or at the very least shampoo with a blue shampoo to counter act some of that orange before you went in with toner, so you could've achieved the look you were going for.

Hi, Brad Mondo is fabulous to watch. He's a very successful hairdresser with his own product line and tons of tutorial videos. @ tips for you for next time. 1. Your hair should NOT be clean. 2. Don't let the bleach get dry. If it gets dry in the last 5 minutes of processing, that's okay. Maybe make the mixture less thick. Great job!

Thank you for this video because I'm learning all this stuff before I bleach my hair. I was also given shit advice from a beauty supply store clerk and bought the wrong colored products. Luckily for me, my starting color is more like your ending color. On me, it's really dark. But hopefully it will lighten up with one processing. Thanks again!

it's a beautiful color on you, from what I can see on my monitor. There are a lot of people that just don't look good as a blonde and I think this color is ideal. Very pretty!
