I have a '05 Ford explorer, 6 Cylinder. And i haven't drained the coolant since i bought it . Basically topping off when replacement of a top hose, oncee and a thermostat where only a few quarts of coolant replaced. I want to do a basic drain and filling of new coolant but, I'm not sure how much i should have before I get started. I'm not flushing system just, draining and replace what i drain. I have 3 gallons of 50/50 and wasn't sure if that is enough. Although, if i drained and noticed there's 4 gallons measured, i would be short 1 gallon and have to replace all what i drained go back to store and start all over again. Thanks any information on what I'm doing is helpful before i try.
