I have been trying to figure this out since I got one done in high school... in 1992. Mine had all sorts of twists, loops & beads. Oh! And a beautiful antique brass bell on the end. I wore it for so long it turned into a deadlock at the top & I had to cut ot out. That was my very long way of saying "Thank you!"

I did this with light link and dark pink It was rlly easy but i didn’t make the strings long enough so theres a small section of the braid showing I did it behind my ear on a small section of hair Its cute but i might have to redo it

@@baez111 when I had mine done, years & years ago, they burned them off with a lighter. But she had lots of practice keeping them in, so there wasn't a lot there.

This video was a giant waste of my time. I did it twice and didn’t have enough string even though the first time I did double the length of my hair and the second time I added even more

You have to have SOOOOOOOO MUCH string dude. I made this mistake the first time and my hair is halfway down my back. I had like two inches of hair sticking out and I was PISSED it took me hours to get done. But I figured it out and just added way more than I’d ever need and it worked! Right now I just lost my little rubber bands and only have a big hair tie and need to figure out how to tie the end off without a rubber band cause that’s the only way I’ve done it!!! I’m gonna do one today tho while my husband is at work

Also you might be grabbing the wrong strings. You don’t use one whole strand of one whole color. If you have two strands of blue. You alternate between which strand you use every time. So you have enough of each one to go down all your hair! If you have two pink and two yellow. Again you’re gonna alternate which one you’re wrapping with. If you grab a yellow one and start with that one and go through all your colors you should have one set of string that’s short (the ones you just wrapped with) and the other ones are gonna be longer…NOW you start with the long yellow. Go to long pink. Long blue and whatever other colors you have!!! When you get done with the “longs” all strings should be about the same length (this is where I like to start separating the strings so I can keep track of what I just used) then you go back to the “shorts” what you used previously!!!!! So you’ll constantly have one set of strings shorter than the other and longer than the other!!! I really hope this helps…cause I made the same mistake too. I’d use one whole strand of one whole color then all of the second and it just wouldn’t reach cause you have to wrap ALLOT and each wrap takes up more string than you think! It’s hard and sooooooo time consuming but when you get it right it’s so cute and worth it….im literally 24 and still do these. Always do what makes you happy and feel pretty✨🫡💅🏼I used to do them in middle school as well and literally forgot and had to re teach myself and watch videos and read comments! I’m sorry the first person didn’t leave a supportive comment to yours!!!!
