Story: I had a one off commissioned job that I needed to trace the image and add some detail extra... So, thoughts were to get a light box. Well, these trace boxes aren't cheap they range from $125 to $500 just for an A4 size... I needed a lightbox & didn't want to pay for a once off thing had a light blub moment, make one..
So I did, and I thought why not share it with my fans, so you can also create one as well, we all like to draw or colour and creating a lightbox will allow you to make your own colouring books or help you on the next art project..
Please note *This is a sample and quick design not for permanent uses I would advise you buy a lightbox/tracebox if you wish to use it more than on the project you build this for.
What I used for Building my lightbox/tracebox was;
A cardboard box
A picture frame glass
Double-sided sticky tape
clear tape
Rule (metal would be best)
Pens and Markers
And a scalpel

I've watched several DIY light box videos and by far this is the best one. I don't have any creative bones in my body but I do want to start doing all kinds of crafting projects. I totally think I can pull this off, I just need to go to the $ store to get a picture frame. Does anyone know if clear LED christmas lights would work & is it ok to put a frosted film over the glass...any help or advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks

i BOUght a light box on amazon for 15 dollars, free shipping 1/8 th inch thick or as you'd say 3mm.

I just bought one off Ebay for less than $20 , free postage and it is thin and easy to store ..my way is cheaper

This is really a one off novelty thing, it is far from a permit solution if you're tracing a fair bit you should look at getting a real light box.. I do have a proper light box for myself this was just a novelty... However thank you for your concerns..
