How do you transfer to canvas

Hi Rebecca, First, let me thank you again for the Zoomapalooza event with Don Andrew's! It was awesome! I have been using a light box for many years and I have a couple ideas which may be helpful. I worked in the printing industry for several years and am a retired cartoonist, now focused on fine art watercolor. Here are my ideas: 1. Do a full sized (size of painting) "rough" drawing and then use the light box to do a cleaned up version, which can then be further refined on watercolor paper on the light box. 2. Put 3 small X's on the drawing or photo (as far apart as practicable) to be traced. On photos, just use a tiny piece of white artist's tape for the X's. After you tape the drawing/photo to the light box and tape your vellum/tracing paper, immediately trace the X's. This creates register Mark's which can be referenced again if you have to separate original and tracing and is a huge help if your art is larger than your light box. 3. If you dou your tracing in black ink, it will be much easier to see when you re-trace on watercolor paper. 4. Don't be afraid to make corrections on the tracings. When I was actively creating new cartoons, I would do a rough drawing in blue pencil, clean it up with a regular pencil, then do my final with pen and ink. Worked great and many graphic artists and cartoonists work this way. Hope this is useful. I am a huge believer in using a light box in this way, so thank you!!!

You are not alone! I’m hoping this video will be encouraging to anyone who struggles with drawing, but still wants to paint. The things we discuss here definitely help! Xo

At last someone has used a definition that dosent make me feel so inferior, because my matchstick men look emaciated, I can't draw like I yearn for and my love of art is great, I used to teach patchwork and quilting and many ladies couldn't master hand sewing, so no problem, find another way round to get a satisfying result . Thank you for your airing a definition that dosent make me feel small because I ant draw end of. Marilyn handley uk.

I'm glad you were uplifted by the video! always my intention to spread light and be an uplifter. Keep drawing! every Artist should plan on 500 "bad" paintings or drawings...whatever your medium. I promise that the m0re you do, the better your outcomes will be!

This was very helpful but it was also very slow - the content could have been delivered effectively in about 50% less time. I do appreciate the useful free lesson however 😊
