Ingredients:
Phase A
Montanov 68 (emulsifying was) 20g
Cetyl alcohol 5g
Coco caprylate 34g
Fractionated coconut oil 25g
Castor oil 10g
Glycerin 4.5g
Phase B
Fragrance oil 0.5g
Preservative (Cosgard) 1

Hi, thanks for the formula. Im just making and using yr formula. Its working and my face turn very soft after use. Unfortunaly my balm turn to tranparent not white like your video. Do u know why? And can we adjust the balm not to soft and to oily when we wash. Tq

Hi, Which ingredients did you use? The balm is white when it is in a solid state and less white when melts on the skin. I use same as your ingredients. But my one turn no really solid and transparent. Then I try to add on more emulsifying wax . Then I get a solid balm and white. Should I less what ingredient to add on more wax? And what ingredient to more easier off mascara waterproof? Sorry my English no good. Tq

Hi, Please write me which ingredients you used. The balm is not solid, it should be a little bit soft so you can scoop with your hands and rub it on your face easily. Once you scoop it with the warmth of your hands it melts and you can use it on the face, when it melts it’s not white anymore. I could help more of you write me everything you used.

Thank you again, I’m glad you enjoy it. Coco-caprylate is made by combining esters from coconut-derived fatty alcohol with caprylic and capric acids, also from coconut. Coco-caprylate is an ester and emollient. It helps soften or soothe the skin. Coco-caprylate is much lighter than oil. You can swap it with squalane, fractionated coconut oil, or Isoamyl laurate. 😃

Coco-caprylate is made by combining esters from coconut-derived fatty alcohol Coco-caprylate is an ester and emollient. Coco betaine is a surfactant. So they can’t replace one another. Do you mean non drying cleanser?, this cleansing balm is a non drying cleanser. It will leave your skin very soft.

This balm has no foaming surfactant so it has no foam. It is oil based balm.

The main difference is that an oil based cleanser (like in this recipe) does not need water, you can just apply the balm on dry face and clean your makeup, when you finish absorbe the excess oil with a towel. Foaming cleansers need water to rinse them off and they usually do not contain oils, they are water-based cleansers.

Is it possible to add a surfactant to the recipe?

If you want to adjust the formula and change some of the ingredients, make sure you adjust it correctly to 100% and test the pH, if you’re adding surfactants that can result in an alkaline pH which you’ll need to lower to a more acidic one.
