This was such a great video; love the cover. It can be made for any appliance, sewing machine, etc., by ajusting measurements. How fun would it be to make it reversable! I'd love to have the pattern. It would be awesome to see more of your DIY/Sewing-Quilting videos. THANK YOU 🧵🪡✂️

my granddaughters mixer is a lift kitchen aid 5 qt. she would like me to make a cover for it. I don't have the mixer to measure but she gave me these measurements 12 wide, 15 inches depth and 17 high. could you help me with making the pattern. thank you so much
@MsKayeLle9 жыл бұрын
patricia renihan ok so of those are the measurements I would say you are best to make your front/back piece 12.5" by 17.5" (with curve a top) and then your long piece would be 40" by 15.5". (I always over estimate the length of this piece because of the curve, best to have more then not enough) I have added 1/4" seam allowance. Hope that helps a bit

Hi, thank you so much for this video and the link to the pattern. On a fixed income and the price for a purchased kitchenaid cover is $35. makes it hard to have what you need sometimes. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I wanted to make a simple cover for my mixer before it arrives and tried to go by the specs. However, it proved to be difficult when you factor in the curve so thanks for posting the measurements. I was kind of close with what I had come up with, but better safe then waste. Your cover looks better than anything I've seen for sale on the Internet. If you don't sell them, you should. :)

Thanks for the video.. made one yesterday from watching your video. Material isn't exciting, its all I had *a gold Broche* I used the S zigzag setting I NEVER used it or knew what it was!! Its brilliant. I cant load photos of my finished cover but its great. thanks
@MsKayeLle5 жыл бұрын
I had never used the s stitch either. It gives a different look to the finished cover is why I used it. I am glad you were able to make one. I need to make another one for myself.
@5eagans9 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed you're demonstration and the project doesn't seem so daunting now. I also love the way you quilted the fabric. The "S" stitch gave the fabric a really great pucker and I'm sure it will hold together nicely in the wash. I feel confident I can do this now and that it will turn out great! I bought a Kitchen Aid mixer in fuchsia (which is the color I wanted) but it doesn't match anything, so I don't feel great about having it sit out all the time. It's too heavy to drag in and out of the cupboard all the time. Making a great cover for it seems to be the answer for me. Many thanks for such an easy to follow demonstration!

+seahorse0000 since the machines are all different sizes i didn't include my measurements. @s/791cboy8gx5nrk85vobu here is a link for estimate front/back panel.just length at bottom for height and width of bowl. Then measure from bottom left all the way to bottom right to get the length of the big piece and measure the depth of your machine. Hope that helps. If you machine is the same as the one i used i do know i tried the front and back panel link i provided and it was the perfect width but not tall enough so I just would add the extra and then measure for middle peice.

I can help you out no problem. I took measurements of the machine and just curved what I thought. app.box.com/s/791cboy8gx5nrk85vobu here is a link to a template I found that may work for you to get the curve right, but you should still take measurements of your machine to make sure it will fit right. I am going to be making a 3rd one of these soon and video tape myself more making it as when I made my second one I changed how I made it a bit to save some sewing time and make it more basic for the beginning sewer.

***** Thank you so much! Do you know how to make a cover for a KA Food Processor too? All of my kitchen appliances are Kitchen Aid. I've had many of them for several years, without any problems. hi! Just watched the video and want to jump right in! Have the material I want to use. Have the pattern printed out for the sides..My KitchenAid Mixer is the 5 qt artisan also. My question is: I too, want to have the pattern of my material face correctly. which means I need to cut the long main piece in half, yes? What is the size of the one middle piece? Thanks so much for your help and the video! Can't wait to start!
@MsKayeLle9 жыл бұрын
Hey remember the pattern may be smaller then machine. Hold up to side of machine just to make sure it won't be to short and add length where needed. To have same design on both sides just measure from one side to the other of you curve pattern add a half inch or so and divide by 2. Hope this makes sense.

@MsKayeLle10 жыл бұрын
the side pockets were i believe 8" high by the width of cover. I do suggest putting something to counter the weight on the other side. this is something i have noticed when using cover that having blades weighs the one side down more.

Hello, did you take classes and how long have you been sewing? I started making quilts about 6 years ago and I am working on two now. do you have any ideas or tips on quilts and putting everything together. I am thinking about taking some sewing classes. This is so beautiful and awesome work.
@MsKayeLle8 жыл бұрын
+Cherie Cunningham NO I did not take classes. I started being interested in sewing when I was 10 or so. My mom let me sew on her machine and showed me basics. The rest was trial and error a lot. I asked lots of questions and researched many things before I would start a project. For quilting, I do not do it as much. But I can say measure twice cut once, baste stitch where needed, press and spray adhesive will all help you.
