DIY: How to make a very cheap professional live well bait tank.

Today, I am going to share with you how to do a DIY video on how to build a very good, professional Livewell tank for your boat. It is simple, professional, cheap, easy, and fast.
Materials needed to build the live bait tank:
1- 20-gallon cylinder drum. you can buy the barrels on facebook. I bought these barrels in Turlock, ca
2- 1/2'' bulkhead for tank intake and 1.5'' bulkhead for tank outlet. you can buy the bulkheads on Amazon.
3- 1/2'' PVC male thread connector. you can buy at home depot.
4/ 1.5'' low profie strainer. you can buy the strainers on Amazon.
5/ 1/5" low profile strainer. you can buy the strainers on Amazon.
6/ 1.5'' flexible hose or PVC Pipe. you can buy the pvc or house at home depot.
Tools:
1/ Drill and cup drill bits. (1" and 2")
2/ Adjustable wrench or plyer
3/ Heat sources (hairdryer, heat gun, or propane torch.)

You don't need a bait take for kayak. You need a two gallons buckets with a lid and drill tons of holes and submerse in the water for your live baits. Thanks for watching. Good luck fishing.

This is great! I had to use a 30g plastic barrel and it works perfectly for what you need. Off topic question. Did you make the Diamond plate deck on your boat? If so then would you mind sharing your knowledge into how someone with a boat like yours would be able to make their own Diamond plate deck. Thanks !! Great video!

It is not diamond plate. It a thick aluminum sheets. I think it is 1/8''. I just removed the old plywood, cut exact same measurements and screwed the new aluminum sheet on the floor structures.

How can you secure the tank if you want to drive the boat at faster speed so it doesn't fall down from the waves. Is there a way to add or make brackets for it to screw it down on the floor of the boat?

If you put the tank inside the boat, just put in a corner and just use a rope to secure and it will be ok. If outside, you can use heavy duty Velcro to secure the bottom and then use straps or rope to secure in place. The back of the boat very stable and not very choppy. Email me if you need more info.
