DIY. How to program Land Rover Discovery Key Fob Without Taking it to a dealer.

Hi,
I am in my first month of owning a Land Rover Discovery. I am doing small modifications and repairs to it along the way. My journey is DIY as much as possible to not only cut costs but to have a working knowledge on this specific type of vehicle.
Someone from the land rover facebook group turned me on to this site.

Found this vid and thought great I can get my son an extra key, he only has one. Went to the website and it is discontinued. But they sell them for the defender, exact key, slightly diff programming I am sure. Sad they do not sell the disco II. I looked around the page and it seems they support nearly all older models, except the diso II. Pretty much what I would expect form the UK.

Thank you! The price is £124.99 = $170.46. My problem was that the owner I bought the car from had a looong key and it's a witch starting the car because you have to do a lot of wiggling to get the key to the correct position to turn.

you need to title this with the year it applies to cuz all of the land rover's I've owned since 2017 have been push start

Still the same. I kept the programmer incase pulling the battery did something. Pulling the battery did nothing too it. It programmed the ecu.

Find a landrover Facebook page and see if anyone near you can program a key with Hawkeye. All you would need to do is buy a key on eBay with both bar codes.

Up to 96' works this way. '97 and up D1 has a two button fob.

You need a key to match what they put in the programmer. They can do more than one for the same programmer

So I have a remote and key that work my spare remote dont work no more. Not 100% sure I understand this. Its not changing what I have correct and order 1 will make it so I will have 2 working remotes and keys. And then I get the key cut at the locksmith to fit the ignition or is the key going to fit based on the answer to their questionnaire. When ordering. Ur video looks so easy I just comprehend slow.
