DIY, How to repair Watch Winder for checking motor condition and more

I prefer to keep my Automatic Watches in a watch winder. A watch winder will keep my automatic watch’s date and time as accurate as possible. Then, I can directly wear my automatic watch before I leave my home. However, affordable watch winders from online stores may NOT be very durable and reliable. A few years later, usually, motors shall be out of order. Personally, I have two watch winders and both of them are currently out of service. I had a time to look inside my two broken watch winders and then, I felt I could repair them by myself. This DIY, How to repair Watch Winder, can give you a sense of idea if you have out of service of your watch winder. Thank you.

Accidently, I had the exact rubber band from a water filter of Samsung Refrigerator. If you pull out a water filter from any refrigerator, the top notch of a water filter has a BLACK rubber band which prevents water leaking. The BLACK rubber band is the perfect size of Watch Winder's motor. I wish this information is helpful. Thank you. Stanley.

Hi, Julian. My watch winder needs "Mabushi RF-500 6V" motors. You should diassembled your watch winder motor pack to check the model number and voltage. I purchased motors from Ebay and Aliexpress. Ebay was the best for delivery timeline. Aliexpress was taking for a while. Good luck.
