DIY: How to Replace Rear Window Regulator 00-06 Chevy Avlanche / Silverado

this was done on 02-06 Chevy avalanche but should be about the same for
whats listed below but if your rear door on the tahoe or suburban have a light dont forget to disconnect that also.

Replaced it just as shown in the video. No problems with the regulator assembly but that black sealant should be hazardous material. Despite my best efforts that stuff got on my tools. I had to used mineral spirits to clean up. It actually took longer to put the inside door panel on and tighten the screws than the regulator/motor assembly installation. My Suburban is so old that the two top inside clips broke even though I was very careful when I remove the door panel. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for sharing. I have same issue with my 04 Avalanche. It seems actuator motor works just the window gets stuck time to time. Silicone white spray grease would help the rails lubed.

Good video and discussion on potential wiring issues. I understand why you didn't remove the plastic since you have to also remove the door handle--why take off stuff you don't need to unless really required. Sure, it's a quick removal but you can also break stuff on these old vehicles when you remove it (been there, done that).

Mine is doing the exact same thing It rolls down but then it only rolls up halfway and it feels like it's getting caught up on something sounds like it too I'm not sure what's wrong with it

I just replaced mine and it seems like my window doesnt go all the way up now (like a quarter of an inch short) and also after i plugged my regulator in it still wont go up and is just locked in place i dont know what the problem is

My only recommendation would be a close up view of the brackets, screws, and misc things because I'm a beginner that doesn't want to pay $100 for someone else to put in my regulator. Otherwise, good video.

Roll your window all the way up. put some strong Zip or duct tape across the top of the door frame. It holds the window up, so you won't have to fight with it falling down. Make sure you put the plastic moisture barrier back on. Go smoke some weed & relax. Then put the door panel back on. I suggest buying an AC Delco regulator, they always fit and work better than Chinese junk.
