Fia, what lovely pieces. That contact paper, omgoodness. I’m with you in the Dollar Tree contact paper. I’m no DT snob but you get what you pay for. Totally looks like real wood on those 2 pieces, I have a couple things in my studio I’m wanting to redo and I think you’ve given a good resource. As always such classy pieces. Thanks so much for sharing and girl, where’s the ❤️ button when we need one. See you next Sunday. Have a fabulous safe week to you and yours.🤗🥰

Hi Sandra! Yes! I can’t get past how good and realistic it looks, and it’s so cheap compared to a real wood surface. Let me know if you use it I’d love to see how it turns out! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to say such sweet words. It makes all of the time I spent making these and the video so worth it! Stay safe, girl! See you next week! 👏🏻

I used to apply vinyl stickers on windows. What we do is spray soapy water on the surface so you can have some “play” with the material and center it. then use the squeegee to push the soapy water out. As long as the surface is smooth the soapy water trick should work.

I’m in the process of doing this but I’m having so much trouble with the spray paint scratching off. It seems to come off so easily! I even sanded it and primes it first but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I’m so glad I found this video using contact paper on the top because obviously that’s the area most likely to get scratched when I’m done so at least now I won’t have to worry about painting the top and then dealing with the scratches.
@poppyt26824 жыл бұрын
Also, I took mine apart to make it easier to spray paint in a small space but I have a horrible feeling that’s going to seriously increase the scratching issue when I reassemble it so I wouldn’t recommend taking it apart if your worried about having the same issues as me!
@FiaGarciaDIY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for that tip!!! I ended up sealing mine with a water-based polyacrylic spray paint and I use it so rarely so I haven’t had any scratches yet but I will keep you posted love! Good luck!!
