I’d like to know what kind of strong screw fixings and wall plugs would I need for concrete wall? Great vid by the way👏

Thanks! We did a video on screwing to plasterboardkzbin.info/www/bejne/l4TOXmmQicpnpcksi=UXHD0hjlXLgZlmKC but for concrete I use thesewww.screwfix.com/p/easydrive-tx-countersunk-concrete-screws-7-5mm-x-60mm-100-pack/3313h you have to buy a big pack though so if you wanted to only buy a few get some of these plus and some screws that you may already have.www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-4all-universal-wall-plugs-6mm-x-30mm-20-pack/633jf

Cool stuff, how to know real size of the parts and whole project after you add fittings to pipes ? Let's say that i want to connect two 50 cm pipes with T shape or other fittings. What will be the length after that?
@beyondtheworkbench2 жыл бұрын
Yea that is a tough one to calculate, I ordered some of the parts I thought we would need and checked their finished sizing. Because we didn't connect to either side were not constrained by the total available width it wasn't so crucial to be mm accurate. If you were you might have to do some custom cutting yourself once you had the parts.

@@beyondtheworkbenchI think i will just order few pipes and fittings so i will be able to connect them and take the final measurements. Thanks :)

Is there a way to do with WITHOUT drilling into floors? We are looking to do something like this for an apartment.
@beyondtheworkbench2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, you dont need to fix the floor supports as they are there to hold the weight rather than fix it in position. As long as it is properly fixed everywhere else you should be ok

You screwed in the horizontal pipe into the right side fitting (3.44). How did you screw it in on the left fitting so that it was tight as well? I bought a two tier wall mounted rail and I can't secure both pipes tightly into the fittings
@beyondtheworkbench Жыл бұрын
Unless you are using it as a load bearing application they dont actually need to be tight. As long as there is enough thread inside to ensure it isnt going to fall out then it is fine for clothing. I had to plan the order I threaded each part together and I think I did it in two halves and then threaded them together twisting one half as a whole but there was one that I had to unscrew the one side at the same time as threading the opposite side in order to get that side in.

Thanks for replying and the info. That's what happened when I screwed in the second pipe. One side loosened as the other tightened. It's for clothing so that's reassuring to know. Thanks agin for the advice and I'll be subscribing to you!

What "white spirit" you used to clean those dirty pipes? Is it some kind of alcohol? BTW, your wardrobe rails are 👍!

Thanks, just some standard stuff from Screwfix www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-white-spirit-2ltr/13027

Is it possible to tighten the fittings until we don’t see any threads left or it’s too hard to twist all the way through ?
@beyondtheworkbench Жыл бұрын
The fittings I purchased arent designed not to have any thread on show but I am sure you will be able to find some that are. You might have an issue on some areas where you have to connect multiple joints as you may have to unscrew one to tighten the other thus exposing the thread.
@MJHFTBN Жыл бұрын
@@beyondtheworkbench thank you! I’ve bought some but I don’t think it’s possible to squeeze it all the way until there’s no thread… not the end of the world

Good luck with it!

What should i do with the floor screws if i have hardwood floors?
@beyondtheworkbench2 жыл бұрын
You could still fix to them as the bottom ones are to stop it moving around rather than to hold it tight. You will need good fixings on the wall though.
