Happy Daniel!🎇🎉🔥🎂🍻🤘. I'm just wondering how much deflection the backing plate will have when you apply the brakes? Maybe I'm just over thinking this🤔🤔! Love this build by the way!! ✌️✌️

@@wadepreston5298 I thought about that as well but those old backers off the drum brakes are pretty beefy. Not the thin crap used today.

On my 72 wagoneer I used to have, I did the drum to disk swap cheaper and it was a full upgrade all the way around! Ditched the pos d30 closes knuckle for a d44 open knuckle from a k10

Happy Birthday Daniel. The bottle flipping in the background had me laughing. Awesome brake upgrade. Hope the shaft clears the shifter linkage when the shifter is actuated.

Yes it does. The only spot it's tight is in park. The rest are just fine.

1 step forward, 2 steps back. I know how that works. Nice to see some actual work going on. Messing about in a field in some old bangers may be fun but not much of a spectator sport.

Speedway rear disc conversion bracket and the GM caliper are super cheap and made for each other and they have two different hats for separate discs and they clear 15" wheels. Not to cast aspersions on your job, you used what you had, just making the suggestion for the people who don't have brackets for another axle just hanging around.

We explained it was just a piece of steel with holes. We were going to make tabs which would have been the same thing.

I realize you say the rotor is something you already have, but do you know what it may have come from? Did you modify the hub for it to slip over?

Cool idea, but are you going to add a vacuum booster? Seems like a moot point to switch to discs, if you're keeping it non-power, IMO.

Would it have been easier to draw up and cut a custom plate on the plasma table?
@carbonshocks4 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of things that could have been easier The point was Joe wanted to show something that people can make on their own with what they have.

any worries about deflection in that shaft coming in contact with the rod? it would be bad news to bump them at full send. love the videos.
@carbonshocks4 жыл бұрын
No the only area that it could potentially come in contact is when the vehicle's in park.
