DIY Kayak Swivel Seat Frame

In this video, I illustrate the materials and methods used to build a swivel seat frame for a kayak. I designed and installed this frame for use on a Bonafide SS127 kayak. This method can be modified using the same materials/parts for similar types of kayaks.
Parts:
3/4" EMT Conduit (various lengths TBD).
Make Pipe "T" Connector (4).

We are seniors looking for high seating for plastic kayaks. Is there a high seat that can be bolted on that is simple. We don’t do a lot of fishing anymore. The only lake we have only allows electric motors. We also want to install long out riggers. We live in Iowa. Thank you. Nov 14, 2023

I used an Ergo360. It was on another kayak and it worked fine.

I understand all the steps. I have a question. The poly cutting board, what size does the need to be. And does that board go down first then the boat base and then quick disconnect. Can you list the order all this should go on. I’d definitely appreciate it. Thanks

The board is just a standard one you can get at Walmart. Just look at the build and you can see how they go together.

This is my final question lol. You mount the quick release to the poly board then the pelican seat has a swivel on it. So can I take it off and put the swivel you recommended. Does that sound right?

As long as it the seat frame is similar then it should work.

I am really wanting to do this mod, bit I have a question about it. You said you used the pelican ergo360 seat. The only one if those seats I can find has a swivel on it. Do I use their swivel to do your mod or do I get rid of it and do it with the parts you mentioned? Can you please show a pic of the bottom of your seat as well? Thanks in advance for a great mod.

Thanks. You can use the seat with a swivel. You just don't need the swivel part in the build.
