for anyone seeking to do this on a sliiightly “greener” level, type 6 plastic also does this! you need to look for the ♻️ symbol and there should be a 6 inside

I'm sure this will get lost, but I tried my hand at making these with no experience and wanted to give my tips/findings for anyone who also wants to get into this! -I may have done something wrong because the dimensional mod podge people suggested kind of sucked, it didnt dry clear and smudged my paint. I ended up investing in UV resin anyway, which honestly isn't that expensive -While Poscas are great they're EXPENSIVE....an alternative that I bought is arrtx paint markers, 24 for roughly $20, and they work great! Downside is they're a thicker nib so making smaller/detailed designs can be a little tricky -if you're having issues with your parchment paper staying flat put it in the oven for a little bit first and it'll stay flat :> -maybe it was obvious but I learned the hard way when pressing your freshly baked charm between books yes you do have to take it off the parchment paper or itll get a weird texture from it
@MxndaBean2 жыл бұрын
I use mod podge too, my first two pins I messed up because I tried doming (a thick layer) right away, and it all got blurry. When doing very thin layers it doesn’t blur as much but it’s very tedious.

Hey there! I make shrinky dink charms and coat them in epoxy resin. So far, I’ve seen no problem with it peeling off as long as the coating is pretty thick! I’ve also tested clear nail polish as a coating, but unfortunately it peels off. You can see how I did it in my first studio vlog video and even though the video shows me resining charms colored with acrylic pens, I resined color pencil colored charms off camera and the resin coating stayed on :)
@WendyInMD3 жыл бұрын
How long did it take for the resin to peel? I’m wondering how long I would need to wait before knowing the resin won’t peel. Also, was there friction against the charms, or would the resin start peeling away on its own?
