Looks beautiful! From my experience, if you use water based poly without a gloss finish you end up with a much stronger finish against scratches etc. and no yellow.

I had the exact same problem with my hutch! I looked up the valspar wax sealer and a lot of people said it made their piece yellow. You didn’t have this problem at all? I am stuck and don’t know how to finish it!!

Good job! About the poly there are some product water base and works very good on chalk paint especially clear colors like white, poly oil base will always make it yellow but it is much resistant I use it but only in dark colors, the bad thing is you loose the matte finished because the polyurethane is always more glossy. You did a vey good job...it is always more difficult make a white piece!!! Usually they bleed a lot when you try to sealed it. 👍

Oh my goodness how heart breaking to see what the polyurethane coating did to all your hard work. I too, have been watching videos where they have recommended using this to seal your chalk paint projects and thought great idea. Now that I've see your video I will never use it. I'll keep using my wax from Annie Sloan. The hutch/cabinet is stunning in the white!! Great job

Crystal clear spray or brush varnish is 100% better. No yellowing.

Cats Pjs I didn't use any special brush but they do make a chalk paint brush but it's pricey. I wanted a simple flat brush to get the edges a bit easier. Thanks for watching! Good luck with your project! 💕

@@goldmouth100 after watching several of these with professionals they say do not use polyurethane because it will yellow, they use polycrilic because it is waterbased and won't yellow.
