Affordable gear I make and sell for the ATG Program by kneesovertoesguy can be found at www.thetibfactory.com Other DIY videos also available on my channel Ben Patrick (The Kneesovertoesguy) and ATG have been a huge inspiration for my training over the past year. I hope this video helps give back to the ATG community and give people an option for tibialis training that is cheaper and more readily available than the original tib bar. I’m using many of Ben’s movements and training modalities to eliminate knee pain and make my way back to windmill dunking in my 30’s. I’m documenting the process along the way and you can watch it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5TTaaBqd6ybatU Subscribe to The Petie Project for new videos every Week. Don’t forget to ring the bell so you don’t miss any videos!

Nice job with the instructions and video... I made this one weekend. I found a few discrepancies in wooden dowel lengths and the need for wider pipe (1.5") to hold the weights, as all our weight plates have 2 in hole. Might be b/c the right angle joints I used were longer and fit about 1" of pipe inside them. TiB Bar PARTS LIST - so you can go to store with an easy list of what to buy (4) 6.5” @ ¾” pvc (2) 2.5” @ ¾” pvc (3) 2” @ ¾” pvc total 37” of ¾” pvc - I just bought an 8' piece and use the rest as pipe to do pass throughs (4) ¾” 90’ elbows (3) ¾” PVC T’s 40” Dowel rod 2 x17” + 1x6” - might have to have more or less dowel depending on your fittings (12’) ¾” pipe insulation cut into 2 x 5 1/4” (1) Hitch Pin 3” @ ¼” ¾” to 1 1/2” bushing 1 ½” coupling 12” 1 ½” pvc

We made this today. It was even easier and cheaper than the slant board at about $30. We had to cut the small sections slightly smaller for the geometry to work with the parts we got. And we went with 1.5 inch PVC for the plate holder, and it's just right. I'm amazed how well the device does its job. It's perfect. Thank you for posting this. And for anyone that doesn't have the tools, he is selling it at a phenomenal price for the value.

I’m leaving this comment because I want to give a positive review and to recommend Petie’s products, specifically the Slant Board. The slant board from the Tib Factory is my favorite of all my slant boards, wedges, and door stops. Meaning, I’ve bought several types from different places, in different sizes, and different materials (foam, metal, rubber, and wood). The Tib Factory’s slant board keeps it simple with a one-piece fully assembles design; the approach angle and overall width feels great for stretching and getting that deep squats; and the grip tape feels amazing and adds more feeling of stability to an already structurally-sound design. I wish I had never bought the other slants that I have, but at least I have a door-stop for every room in my house 😂

I made this the other week according to the parts list included in the comment by another viewer and it turned out great for the most part. Cost me about $50 total but I had to buy some expensive pieces like a drill bit that some people would already have in their toolbox. For pvc, dowel, and pin alone, it would only be about $25-$35. I ran into three problems when making this. First, my 2” pieces weren’t fitting into the tee far enough to be able to twist the foot rests bars around enough. I had to cut these down about .5-1” to make it all fit right. This might be because the tees available at my home depot hd different measurements. Second, the 17” rods were a little too long and I ended up cutting em down about 1” each. I did this by eye after attempting to fit it all together and recommend you also wait before you cut anything too short. I also cut my 6” dowel rod too short and couldn’t secure the 1-1/4” to the dowel with a screw. I bought pvc primer and cement and that wasn’t any tougher than cutting dowel rods and screwing the pvc in. Hopefully more secure if anything.

Also, i bought the pipe insulation foam for padding but I don’t think it’s necessary unless you’re working out barefoot or repping HEAVY weight at which point you can head back to the store and get it at a later point.

Thanks for all of the help with DIY fitness stuff, Petie! In the past week I’ve made your slant board, Nordic bench, and tib blaster. I’m so psyched to put these things to use and get a healthier body back. I did do one thing differently on this project though. Instead of drilling the 1/4” holes for the plates, I just used a standard spring bar clamp to hold the place on the 1-1/2” PVC pipe. At first the clamp wouldn’t stay on because its inner diameter was just slightly to large. So I added a layer of Gorilla tape around the whole 1-1/2” pipe. Now the collar stays in place super secure 👍 Really happy with how that turned out. Anyways. Keep up what you’re doing man. I’ve enjoyed all of your videos, including the finance ones. I always get excited when I see you out another video out. Looking forward to the DIY Monkeyfoot!!! 🤙💪

to reinforce the joints, I recommend getting PVC adhesive and sandpaper. You scuff the inside of the joints and where the pipe enters the joint, then put the adhesive into the joint and put it together. However, you must be very quick as the adhesive will bind up extremely quickly

To add to this, you can dry set your joints and make sure everything is square, then mark a line with a sharpie across the joints, next take it apart add glue and easily line up everything with the marks you made...it can be tough to get everything square with the small glue drying time window.

@@bbetros Works like a charm👍 I was able to use 3/4” PVC for the whole thing since my plates have a 1” hole. Feels super sturdy after adding extra screws to each 90degree piece. Adding dowel to the sides would make it even stronger but since most of the force goes through the center “T” joints I think it’s fine. I found a D-shaped hitch pin on the same isle as the screws and it’s super secure

Yes, initially and also to keep the total cost of the build down. The fittings for the 1.5" can get pretty pricey, but it may also eliminate the need for the internal dowel for strength/rigidity if you built the entire thing out of 1.5" schedule 40 pvc.

Different size PVC for the shaft. The wooden dowel will need to run the full length of the shaft to provide support for the smaller and thinner PVC. It's 3/4" PVC for the shaft for standard weights but use the thin stuff. Not schedule 40. The rest of the PVC should be schedule 40. Standard version also available at www.thetibfactory.com

We just figured out why yours is longer, because you didn't use the 90 degree elbow you used a three way fitting which is longer. And yes your video says 1 1/4" instead of 1 1/2 ". You might want to add an explanation at the beginning of the video on both problems, it is frustrating following your directions that don't work. My husband got it figured out because he does plumbing work but for other folks it would not be fun.🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for posting this and helping everyone with the savings cost, Lord knows we can all use good ideas to save a dime now a days!
