Avoiding pain doesn’t make it go away. It reinforces the brain that you have a problem and that you are in danger. But I know myself that moving with pain is not always easy. It takes a lot of courage, a slow approach and consistency. It comes with ups and downs. Your brain wants to protect you and won’t let go in a minute. But eventually the brain will learn that you are save and will let go the pain. I have experienced it many times. There is a way out. Fear and focus will keep the symptoms persistent.

While this is a good exercise in its own right, I wouldn’t consider it an alternative to the nordic curl. It’s a completely different exercise. You’re right that it’s an isometric hold in one position of the ROM, the nordic takes you through the whole ROM in an isotonic fashion. Actually the best thing for connective tissue strengthening (tendons and ligaments) would be controlled eccentrics. There’s a lot of well studied data to back this up.

Dumb question, how do you go about cutting the 24* wedges? May have to try a handsaw, I have circular saw but doubt I’d hold an angle accurately freehanding it and setting up an angled track turned into a pain and I called it for today. Thanks!

Anyone ever made a sled tank using magnetic resistance (f.e. a magnetic stationary bike's rotor)? I'm playing with this idea for some time, but couldn't find any information of anyone making one of these. BTW the build in this video is really cool, I just would like to have a sled that rolls.

Nice job. Have you gained any benefits from all these Nordics? Increases in any athletic performances? Do you run faster, jump higher, feel better, look better? Just curious, I've been trying to progress to a Nordic, but I'm not sure why I'm doing it. I just got caught up in all the hype.
@ThePetieProject9 ай бұрын
In my opinion doing actual athletic movements like jumping is how you become more athletic. It's a fun challenge to learn the Nordic but if it's taking away from your primary goals then feel free to abandon it. It's certainly not a silver bullet for athleticsm however it will make you much stronger.

I'm so glad I tried this. I tied a wide work belt around the bottom of my twin bed boxspring, which I have topped with plywood and I use a couple foam pads for a mattress. Anyway, that setup works perfect for free. Although, as I think about it, most people have a mattress on top of their boxspring, lol. So, this might not really help too many people. I tried.

I got your sled and I like it, but the hitch seems to be in the way of the plates and they don't sit stable. Is there a specific kind of plate you use with some indentation or is it supposed to be like this?
@ThePetieProject10 ай бұрын
Can you please email me a photo so I can figure out a solution for you? I've never heard of this issue before. The plates should sit completely flat and be stable. No specific weight plate required
@maaseru859 ай бұрын
@@ThePetieProject hey sorry for taking this long. To reply back. I will see if I can get a picture, but I think the issue is that the diameter plates I have is smaller than the sleds end brackets so it sits in that lower level the hitch is. If I get at leats one plate of the diameter you have I can just put the rest above so it avoids the issue. So what diameter plates or what brand/type do you use?
@danbuckles274510 ай бұрын
There is another easier way to learn this by setting up with ankles set and a pad under knees. Instead of moving outward at the knees you bend at the waist as the hips are much stronger and not at the knees in a jack knife position and you do this as you get stronger and are able to start extending further out. I do 5 sets of five reps and it's much better than when I was trying to bend at the knees. I put my hands behind my legs to feel my hamstrings as they work.

It's very hard to say just return to play. In my case, I have chronic patellar tendinopathy on my right and a partially torn acl on the left. So how..
@ThePetieProject11 ай бұрын
Dribbling a basketball, juggling, throwing a Frisbee while stationary with a friend...depends on what you like to do. Try to work within what you are able to do and make the activity not about "rehabbing" but something that looks something like where you ultimately want to go at a very regressed version within your current limits instead of only "rehabbing" and eliminating all forms of play
@futureceltic0011 ай бұрын
@@ThePetieProject actually, I returned to playing with limited intensity only. And the hardest part to accept is that you are now only a shell of your old self inside the court. By the way, did you have acl repair?

This is confusing. Can i just hit Machine Hamstring Curl to achieve this?
@ThePetieProject11 ай бұрын
Hamstring machine is great. Different stimulus from Nordics but same muscle group. You can really overload eccentric in the Nordic. Only way to do this on the machine would be a 2 leg up 1 leg down approach.
