******some general tips & tips for D+ cup sizes!****** If your "C" measurement is much shorter than your "B" measurement and so the diagonal line seems too long and/or you're ending up with a square: No worries! Just make your C equal to or larger than B/D (outer/inner). When done, cut out the paper pattern and fit it around your breast. Then you can chop it down a bit shorter if the cup goes higher than you would like. Make sure to cut the outer and inner the same amount. Note: is meant to end up as a triangle cup, so the top of the cup will come up quite high. If your C measurement is really short then you might be after a different style of cup. My bra size has increased since I made this tutorial 5 years ago, and the above is what I do now when making new bralettes :) Re plus sizes and fabric: Helpful comment from Rose Pryor! "As a GG girl myself for whom this did work I strongly encourage using strong fabric (probs not lace unless you're using it as exterior decoration) and thick elastic :) when putting it on (elegantly, of course) just bend over and pull your boobs up a bit so hey sit nicely. it's so much more comfortable than bought bras and MUCH more affordable.. and they're not necessarily beige! [use] a strong, minimal stretch fabric, for the cup, thick elastics (I made fabric tubes for mine) and very strong stitching (I used button thread, probably not necessary but I wasn't gonna risk it lol) never as much support as a bought bra but good for everyday wear :)"

I wish I had looked at the comment section before going and buying fabric (I opted for no lace, just a plain bralette) I'm not where near a GG, but non stretch would have been a genius idea. Oh well, now I have fabric for a dress or shirt, will try cannibalizing a tee shirt or something for this next time. :)

+Annika Victoria #7, the triple zigzag! #3 can work too but I've been fiddling with it lately and I find it has the most tendency to suck the fabric into the feed dogs. Useful if you want straight stitching on knits though!

I have a problem when attempting making the pattern I am finding that the C line always has to be far longer than the desired length, I don't know if this would resolve itself when turned into fabric This is an example and not my exact measurements but if my (this bit is in cm) B is 10 and my A is 8 but my desired c is 6 it physically cannot connect to both lines whilst keeping its length. love the video tho

Hi! So my bra size increased since I made this video and I ran into the same problem. I just increased the C measurement to be equal to or larger than B/D measurements by about half an inch. Make sure the C measurement stays the same on the inner and outer pieces. And please note that it is a triangle shaped bralette and the top of the bralette will be quite high, so if your C measurement is a lot shorter than the B/D, you might also be after a slightly different style of bralette! Hope that helps!

I had considered doing that but didn't have too much fabric so was kinda freaking out that if I cut like that I might get stuck with the wrong shape! I have now upped my fabric collection so am definitely going to give this another shot! Yeah don't worry I was aiming for a bit of a triangular look but maybe not as extreme but now I've decided to say screw it and just experiment and make one the way I should (thanks to you being so lovely and getting this information to me) and another in my own winging it fashion to see what I can come up with!!
