Always love to see a side part! I can see the advantage of the ponytail method for thicker, fuller hair, but maybe not for finer, thinner hair. I would probably have about 10 hairs in each ponytail, sadly, unlike your mannequins.

I love that you detangle ! Not many stylists do and o have super tangly hair . I’m gonna start DIY’ing it cuz I got charged $56 plus a $15 tip for a trim and light face frame recently! I was so mad they raised the price and didn’t tell me til it was time to pay . I didn’t want to hurt the stylus feelings. So I didn’t say anything. I actually didn’t even notice until I got home and looked at my bank statement. And then I texted her and asked her. Anyway, I will not be going back to her or anyone else for my hair. I’m scared to death to layer mine, though it is down to the middle of my back.

My hair is very thick and fine with a lot of wave to it and is about the same length as what you started with here. I want a very low maintenance style and thought shorter layers, like a shag would be perfect to wear naturally. I paid to get it cut and the layers aren't short enough and looks awful. It looks like no one where I live cuts hair for natural wear. The closest people who appear to are 1-3 hours away and charge $100-400 for just a cut and style. I am tempted to try this.

I honestly don't understand why my hairstylist doesn't section my thick red hair and why my bangs are always crooked. I always end up correcting the layers around my face, so I'm beginning to think I'll just do the whole cut myself. I told her that my bangs looked longer on my right side and instead of fixing it, she said maybe my eyes were crooked... LOL... they aren't. SMH
@Q1e2e3r4t5-bАй бұрын
Yes me too! I've been to 3 stylists in the past 10 yrs and I've had to correct all of them. It's always uneven in the back or the front length, and I always have to even up the angle of the face framing. Just had to fix a haircut this week but I cut a little too much and now my face pieces are too short. It's sooo frustrating! And they don't listen to what I tell them I want.

Same here. I always get cut a sharp edge in the middle of the haircut. I always sah, please don't cut it like this and it happens anyway. Why? I will try it myself next time. It is a lot cheaper and maybe not uglier? 😢😂😂

FYI: Using Vidal Sassoon's techniques, texturizing shears should NEVER be used. Sassoon believed that precision cutting with "regular shears", which involve creating clean lines and structured layers, could accomplish any look, including texture and volume, without needing to resort to thinning or texturizing tools.
@StylesBySummer4 күн бұрын
It's a ponytail cut meant for someone who can't get to the salon to be able to do it at home. Precision cutting is a skill that takes years of training. Those at home certainly can one day achieve it, if they are determined, but thinning shears are the cheat code meant to make it easier.
@psmith30014 күн бұрын
@@StylesBySummer Perhaps you can add a video text (In the description below this video) in this video with the following admonishment. Disclaimer: Please make absolutely sure your "thinning shears" are highly sharpened! Note: Using dull thinning shears will damage your hair, for example, split ends.

Sis, I cut my hair lightly Katkat and tried to make it a little shorter when I got home. Because when my hair was cut it was a little long And I changed the cut style of my hair by cutting it here and there.On top of that I did bangs, it doesn't matter I love it🥲But the only problem here is that my hair style is ruined.I really don't know what to do,Every time I think about it, it makes me angry, it's so sad. 😭I regret it so much Now I want my hair to be butterfly layered But I also know that it won't happen after this hour.Moreover, I cut my hair very short Up to my neck right now I've been playing with my hair and cutting it for about a week now.I'm trying to fix it, it's gotten a little better than before, but I'm not happy with this part at all.Does it happen after it grows out or can butterfly layered cuts still be done on short hair?I would be very happy if you could help me.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️

This whole haircut contradicts her previous one about not cutting too many layers in the back which makes your hair too thin at the bottom. She just did classic beauty school technique of the occipital bone thing. They all do that and layer everything above it, which for my hair is too much. My hair is already thin in the back and that occipital bone thing makes it even thinner. My layers can't start down that low ...need to start higher on my head, surface layering. If they do too much layering its too thick and creates the thin line at the bottom and then a thick shelf where the layering starts.
@simon-5152 ай бұрын
What I would absolutely love is a way to put a shorter bang into these beautiful cuts you do. The reason being some of us....me....are older. The forehead shows our age. I am 69 yet pass for someone in their early 50s. Not my own arrogance I have been told this many times by different people. But that darn forehead. If it shows the pretense is over.
@katdunn79342 ай бұрын
I'd have a hard time cutting the back sections. I'd love to see someone actually doing this on themselves to see how they hold their hands, the angle if their arms. It's definitely not the same angle that another person cutting your hair can will do.
