I love the on-the-fly design work. Adaptation at it's finest. :)

Looks great, but I do have 1 concern. If your laptop has vents on the bottom to draw air in to help cool the electronics, then having it lay on the leather may cause overheating. I thought for a moment and figured that if that is the case, then attach 2 or 3 small squares or rectangles of leather scraps stacked several high to create a raised edge on one side to angle the computer up to allow for air passage. just a thought.....

A very handsome design! Love the dual closure flap/mouse pad. I will be making one like it sometime, thanks!

Only thing I'd add would be a punching holes at the ends of the slits. It's my understanding leather can tear and adding those holes can act like ripstops.

The built-in sleeve was also shown on Mr. Build it. That's another great channel.

Love this design Linn, mechanical fasteners tend to bulk areas up, your design is just lovely. I have been thinking of similar style for a small field notes cover. Great video thank you 😀

Fantastic idea! I happen to have the exact same laptop and wanted something slim but funcitonal, I might try and do something similar for mine!

I didn't even watch yet. The concept is so simple and yet it's a "why didn't I think of that".

Buen trabajo.

That is a clever design that looks good and works well. If you liked the look of a rectangular flap/mousepad, leather hooks at the corners could fit into very small slits. This would allow the case to be more closed.

Awesome project, simple and so effective! I use a desktop but always struggling with a mouse pad and am now immediately going to check my leather stash :-D

Really beautiful work, Linn! Really nice! 😃 How about something to be able to carry it around? Something you can put and remove from it... You know? Sorry, my English isn't that good to explain. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Lin. You should punch some small holes at the ends of your slots. Typical 'leatherworking trick' to keep the end from tearing. A 2 or 3 mm hole should be enough. Kudos on the locking flap. Great idea.

Nice job with the computer holder, but where do you keep the mouse? I would always be leaving it at the last place I had it and that would end up driving me mad (or madder that I am already that is)

taking a page from holster and saddle leatherwork: maybe lock stitch across the edges of the loop the flap tucks into to prevent stretching or continue the stitching to the edge seam for additional strength as well
