DIY LED low profile lights

I took a different approach. My garage had one single bulb socket in the middle of the unfinished ceiling. I bought 5 bulb doubler sockets and 8, 100-watt eq LED bulbs from Dollar Tree for a total of 12,000 lumens. Put a doubler into the first socket, 4 doublers into the four doubled sockets, and screw in the bulbs. I liked it so much I ran two extension cords to new fixtures in the front and back of the garage. Total cost for each fixture is $15 with the doublers and 8 bulbs. More lumens and less money. Plus if a bulb goes out, it's easy to replace. The fancy fixtures are not so forgiving if the LEDs go out.

I did the same thing to my shop with LED lights . However I ripped 1/2" baltic Birch plywood to 1x3 , predrilled then 1 screw to anchor the ply to the ceiling joist, then screwed the flimsy clip to the 1x3. Super solid and I don't have to trust the plastic expando failing / falling. Love the el cheapo lights. Excellent call on the 5K color BTW. 6K is too blue when adjusting paint colors.

Before seeing this video I had bought the same lights and installed them. They work great. I like that they light is more dispersed and there are few shadows. Previous lighting the two car garage was one fluorescent shop light with old tubes and a window. LOL Some negative reviews on Amazon were about the switches being underrated. I think their issue was they had too many in series (like all ten in the box) when the instructions recommend only 6 in series. That 1st switch is trying to pull all the current through it and it might be too much for it with 10 lights.

Your videos are still under exposed. You also need a light that shines on your face to highlight expressions. Camera is typically adjustable to brighten overall image. Otherwise, no matter how bright lights are, camera will adjust to keep similar brightness of image.
