Do you remember the wiring diagram from bike to LED light strip? Trying to install on my 79 KZ750. Thanks!

Gret work man!! I tought the led mount was too heavy, but it came out outstanding! It looks minimal and sturdy. Looking forward a 440, I bet you will help me a lot. Have you checked out the Little Rat from GTMoto? It was done over a KZ440 by a gal. Greetings from Patagonia Argentina!

Really liked the rear light. How do i pick up welding? I like the things you were able to piece together with that skill
@AimlessMoto6 жыл бұрын
Find a cheap, used MIG welder and buy it. Then start welding. Dont buy "flux core" welders... not great for learning. Then, buy a book on welding, or watch youtube to learn. My dad is a certified welder, so i was able to pick it up at a young age.

That fender and light setup looks amazing i think putting a seat on would kill it in my opinion ive seen people who like make their fenders into seats and makes their build more sleek and lined up, i think the two most hardest things about a build is the tank and seat alignment :p

I'm doing a similar build on a Suzuki gs400, you're quite a bit further than I am though. Looks good man!!

Those tail lights are dead sexy! I'm jealous

I'm picking up one of these bikes as a project and learning experience soon. Out of curiosity why did you use two led strips? Was it to match voltages with the stock setup? Or was it just to be more visible? Love the build btw.
@AimlessMoto Жыл бұрын
More visibility and redundancy on the cheap parts.

that light looks awesome how heavy is it though
@AimlessMoto8 жыл бұрын
Not heavy at all... 3/4 lf a pound? I used 1/8th inch steel so it's fairly light.
@lightitup5508 жыл бұрын
+AimlessMoto nice on screen it looks heavier i wouldnt mind doing something like that outa aluminium or some sheet steel
@AimlessMoto8 жыл бұрын
Definitely! It's really not that hard, just take your time and learn as you go! It's just metal :).

What brand of crinkle paint did you use on your motor?
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
Fliguy4ever VHT

Thanks man I have an 1980 xt500 that needs an overhaul I thought crinkled paint would make lower end of the engine look good top end I'm gonna gloss it and sand the edges of the fins

Why not powder coat all the small bits?
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
Time, and money.
@Denis-bo8ms7 жыл бұрын
AimlessMoto its not that bad. I bought a compressor and blasting cabinet on Craigslist, Eastwood powder coating gun, and did of most of my cb750 F parts except the frame. Baked everything in a toaster oven.
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
I sand-blasted all the stuff at my father-in-law's shop, then hit it with epoxy caliper paint. Won't run or soften with gasoline and if it chips or scuffs touch-up is super easy. I think if I was doing a build that I was going to keep, or was going to be a high-dollar build, I would definitely powder coat the frame and other high-wear items, but for keeping the build under $800 it worked for me!
@Denis-bo8ms7 жыл бұрын
Can the caliper paint be used on the frame as well?
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
Denis any epoxy paint can. You can use anything you want but I find the finish and durability for a spray can job is best with duplicolor caliper paint or PJ1 epoxy fast black.

Me and my 15 yr old son are trying to get my dads KZ400 running right now. we are having trouble with the carburetor and finding the right carb boots. you should do a video on how to tune the carburetor on that bike. I think it would ger a lot of likes.
@AimlessMoto6 жыл бұрын
Eric Simerman check out the KZriders forum. Just sign up. You will get tons of info there. I have a detailed build thread there too. Unfortunately the bike was sold about a year ago.

Keep in mind that those LED strips are NOT waterproof, i have triend 5 different suppliers by now and they all leak and break down within days.
