For anyone who wants to get the exact weight they are lifting I derived this formula. W=D*Q + L + L*D/(D-X) - {Q*(D - 2X)*[([D + 2X]/2)-X]}/(D-X)... Where W = weight experienced, D = length of beam , Q = weight of beam/length of beam, L = Load at the end of beam, and X = Distance of lift point from weight. If you want to ignore the distributed load of the beam simply remove "{Q*(D - 2X)*[([D + 2X]/2)-X]}/(D-X)" from the calculation.

Would that work the same if pushing over head instead pulling. Assuming the plank starts horizontal too

Wouldn't M1*L1 + M2*L2 = M3*L3 just apply? M being mass and L being length between the point of rotation and the application point of the force. 1 would be the weight plate, 2 would be the mass of the beam and 3 would be the lifting point. I threw it in excel real quick with some guessed numbers and it seems to work.

Yes! I miss the build videos as well. They’re just expensive to make and much more time consuming but I haven’t abandoned them

It looks like the upright boards at the base are angled slightly outward. This might be why you had a hard time installing the base pin. If you assist in making another, you could try attaching the uprights to the beam with the base pin first, then attaching the to the baseboard and installing the supporting boards. You might be able to then remove the pin, add the screws into the supporting boards, and reinstall the pin easier. I hope that makes sense. I plan on building one myself so please don't take this as hate. Love the video and thank you for showing us how to build this!

I kinda love this. think using a thinner steel pipe for the lever would make it even more versatile. essentially it would be a landmine machine with extra attachment points.

I love it and it seems easy enough for me to build on my weekend home. I have just 1 question- how can i leave it outside and not let the metal parts rust easily. Cheers from Serbia!
@KaizenDIYGym
@KaizenDIYGym 4 ай бұрын
You can add paint to the metal parts or use galvanized metal

This is really cool. Depending on the total length, and the eye bolt locations, you could put on a single 45lbs plate, and lift 450lbs (or more) If that ain't saving a buttload of time and money, I don't know what it is.

Can I use 2 or 3 3x1 stacked and maybe glued to make 3x3 or 4x4? Will it work or it's it just better going for 2x2?
@KaizenDIYGym

You can stack and glue to create a 4x4, it just won’t have the same weight capacity as a 6x6.

I bet a timber pole would work even better since then you could also do press exercises, plus your thighs would thank you. I know for a fact it would be a bitch and a half to get that sucker centered though.

@KaizenDIYGym Maybe I'm late on this, but would a nylon strap that can slide along the whole length work, too? No need for fidgeting with a caribiner in between position shifts, just slide and GUN IT.

Shallow notches on the underside for the strap to fit into would make this idea perfect...
