Wow! This is coming along great. One of the best things about your videos is the average length…so many others drone on & on. Thanks so much for sharing.

I’m watching through the whole build. Very nice and inspiring. Did you iron the canvas before or after gluing? Thanks!

Both. I ironed it before, to get the wrinkles out after washing it, then as I laid the canvas onto the glue I used the iron to flatten it and stick it to the glue.

Did you put glue down on the foam first then put the cloth down then iron. Or put glue over the top of the cloth and iron right on the glue?

After washing the cloth, I ironed it some. I rolled the glue (Titebond 2) onto the foam with a 1/4 inch nap paint roller, laid the cloth on it and ironed it flat and worked the wrinkles out as I went, one section at a time.

Looks great.. nice work! So you didn't put anymore glue on the outside of the cloth just on the foam? Did the glue come thru the cloth and get on the iron?

No glue on top. It came through in a few places but that is not the goal. The canvas needs to still be able to absorb the paint that goes on next to create the waterproof barrier. The glue that got on the iron basically melted off because it wasn't a problem. I added a link in the description of a great video showing the process. Here it is also. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWSteqyel8mcY7M
