I savor your videos. My late husband & I were working to be self relient in the 90's. We had a mini farm with stocked pond, fruit trees, 16 French bed garden plots, wood burner, etc. I canned, froze & dehydrated food, darted herbs & flowers. But after he passed away, I couldn't keep up with the chores & work. He was only 52 & I was 42 when he passed. I am now 63 & long for those days, so I live them through you...of what could have been for us. Please keep up posting your progress as it gives me so much pleasure & calm. Love to Callow & your beautiful wife & daughters.

This is the first time I have seen you make boards out of trees. I couldn’t imagine how you did it. Fantastic contraption. Better yet, knowing how to do it. I have been watching your videos for several months now, and it’s always such a treat. What a compound you have created. And Cali! I love her! Your interaction with her is a beautiful thing. Thank you for these wonderful videos. I’m a fan for life.

Good solid content Shawn! A good standard to measure why we tune in to your channel. A suggestion for a video: A whole day with Cali. Playing, hiking, feeding/treats, and general petting/spoiling. She is so patient, waiting on you while you get your work done. You know I have two, and I would never get anything done around here if the goldens had their way. lol

Like the logo with sound effects. I have family left in Minnesota after my Mom and Dad moved out here to California in 1949, and one thing on my bucket list was to hear the loon calls on one of the northern Minnesota lakes. So last year I made the trip with my wife and soaked in those awesome sounds of the wild.

Your chainsaw plank cutting technique always fascinates me Shawn so simple but so effective. Wood is such a wonderful material to work with and you are able to do so much with it! And down comes the map! Aw! My children are adults now, but they loved the big map we kept on our wall so they could mark out places they have been and are going. We gave them smaller maps to follow as we would drive through the states and then we would talk about the states’ flower, bird, best growing product, etc. Fun times. Wish my grands were closer so they can do the same thing.

ages ago, my great great grandpa built a sod house in Nebraska. He put a board between the sods for a shelf, but didn't measure quite right, the clock wouldn't fit, so he sawed the top off, make it work! Grandma sold it for a decent sum, because the buyer thought is was a wonderful story!
