I personally wouldn't call manhole pressed into shirts "art." No different than grave rubbings. It doesn't take any skill and isn't originally drawn or painted by Rob, therefore it isn't "his" art.

Rob used something people walk over every day, something so utilitarian and turned it into a piece, which while yes is still simple, still speaks volumes. To me modern and post modern works of abstract have broken down this silly gatekeeping people put on art.

I'd say try making a negative casting of the manhole cover, then use the negative to make the prints, so that the lettering is reading the correct way

At that point night as well just do a standard screen print with a digital image of a manhole cover. His shirts were actually pulled from a piece of the town, dog pee and all 😅
