Another way to incorporate color would be to get a colored glass jar and do the mirror effects on the inside. I see large colored glass vases and candle containers at the thrift store all the time. Blue, red, green, pink, purple.

Perhaps you could try spraying the vinegar solution on the objects first to act as a resist to the paint... thanks for sharing

good idea!

Would one of those long plastic straws that come with cans of WD40 and similar fit on the paint can nozzle to get into the bottom of the narrow vases?

That's not a bad idea but I've never tried it so not sure. Let me know if you do!

I think the instructions say to spray the vinegar solution before you spray the mirror paint?

I've always done after but I know everyone does it differently.

That sea glass technique is incredible! I'm curious about how the smaller vases especially (since the mirror was on the outside only) held up after six months. Do you think - honestly now - the sea glass/mirror glass technique would look odd on a piece of glass in a frame in a semi-vintage bedroom? You know, like an old mirror. I've made several "old" mirrors but never with a color incorporated. Thanks for your help. From the Southern California desert, MK 😁🌞🌵

The vases look the exact same today as they did the day I completed them! And I think this technique would look fabulous on an old mirror! I've actually got a few old windows that I thought about doing this technique on.

@@RepurposeandUpcycle Wow, funny you would mention that... I just re-found (re-found?) an old six pane farmhouse window with a couple of the panes missing... 🤔🤔 hmmm. Thank you for your response. MK

What if you used a hair dryer instead of a paper towel
@RepurposeandUpcycle2 жыл бұрын
The paper towel is to help blot the "excess." I'm not sure the blow dryer would do that but it might work! Let me know if you try it.
