It's great to see your face! I pray that your spirit is lifted as much as you help lift others. Also, starting over isn't a negative. Look at it as an opportunity to reassess, revamp, and transform into whatever you AND your IG page were called to be! I look forward to your next post!

You are very inspirational. I’m 5 weeks into my sister lock journey and I love your hair. My hair is pretty long but medium density. I started my install at 14 inches and can’t wait til I’m 10 months! Keep sharing!
@hawtnsweet3 жыл бұрын
Congrats on having the strength to start over. It says a lot about you I think. Your hair is thriving! I would only suggest 1 thing - that you let your hair dry in the braids completely before taking them down. That way you preempt bunching. Your hair looks just like my daughter's (same length and density). She has 646 locks. I installed them for her at the age of 4 (she's had them for a little over a year now) because I think of my own journey now and wish that my mother had known to do the same for me when I was that young. It would have saved me so much stress and money. All my daughter cares about though is that she never has to detangle, plus she gets to wear her hair down and toss it this way and that Thank you for being such a blessing to the Microlocs community and more grace in all you do.
@QueenEleem3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 that’s very kind of you to say! And I’m with your daughter, no detangling and swinging your hair around are the two best things ever

I'm still amazed at how well you did. Your hair is gorgeous and I feel the same way about the FREEDOM! I had my sisterlocks installed by a loctician and let her maintain them for me for a year but when I started nursing school I couldn't afford the reties so I started doing them myself. That's when the true freedom began. I do mine over a few days and just take sections at a time like you. I've graduated and still do my own reties. I now feel like I have true hair freedom. Simple and easy and I wish I had done this YEARS ago.

Ok so I just finished every video of your transformation so far and girl your hair is FABULOUS!!!! I will try to keep this brief.... First I just want to say thank you for doing this!!!! I have been wanting to loc my hair for 13 years now... I first learned about sister locs around that time when I was living in FL but there were very very few people that were licensed to do them and even back then it was EXTREMELY expensive.... I have 16-20 inch hair depending on my mood and whether I chop some off and honestly I am not willing to cut my hair to start locs and for a long time that is what I was told that I would have to do... I was also told that because of my hair texture that the locing process is going to be extremely hard and long... I currently have 1A/1B hair but started out with 3B/3C hair and at 30 my hair had an identity crisis lol.... Because of BC my hair started to thin extremely and I developed traction alopecia because I was embarrassed by my hair... I usually wear braids or twists and pretty much do the same thing you did for those 13 months but I have been doing this for a couple years now So what lead me here... I hate my hair currently and am tired of braids because of the heaviness so yesterday I started researching locs because if I can learn every type of braid and do them myself then why can't I learn how to start locs!! I don't even know how I came across your page but I am glad I did!!! I currently use the grid method when I do my normal braids and twists so I have that down packed already. Because I have always been told that because of my hair type my hair will take 2+ years to loc I have never attempted this but after watching all of your videos I am ready to attempt this!!!! I know that I will have to do the interlocking method because of my type of hair so I am in the process of making a braided wig so that I have a way to cover my hair while I am at work and not look crazy lol. I go into work tomorrow but then I don't have to go in until after Christmas so I am hoping to start my journey tomorrow afternoon after work.... Thank you so much I have learned so much in these past 24 hours!!!! And I hope that PA school is going great... With your attention to detail and caring nature I am sure you will make a great PA!!!!

I see you listed below the IFBA dreadlock management tool in your list of products. Do you mind demonstrating how you use it one of these days whenever you get a chance please? That’ll be great. I can’t seem to find many videos demonstrating how to use that tool. I notice it is similar to the sisterlocks tool.
@QueenEleem3 жыл бұрын
The ifba tool is more useful if you are doing someone else’s hair rather than doing it on your own head. I’d recommend the gold colored needle tool if you’re self-retightening or installing

Bc they’re not full locked yet and I don’t want slippage or insane bulges. The longer your hair is when you start the more careful you have to be especially if you want them to look uniform in the end stages. Or at least that’s what I’ve heard from sisterlockers on yt
