DIY Minimalist Truck Bed Camper Build - Part 2 (Trial & Error)

Part 2 of our minimalist DIY truck camper build. This build will be used for weekend trips and has storage that’s accessible with the tailgate closed. We can also sit up inside the camper with plenty of head room. Leave a comment below if you have any questions.

I like your emphasis on functional simplicity. For comfortable warmth and durability, I recommend wool blankets for your bedding. 100% wool from a reputable manufacturer such as Pendleton and Faribault Woolen Mill Co. will last for generations when properly cared for. A couple of wool blankets will take up a lot less room than sleeping bags and can be used in the house or your car or a tent.

Yea since I just plan to use it on the weekends and still want to be able to use the bed of the truck for other things I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on the build.

I love the simplicity of the build. I had an idea on the window covers. Instead of velcro, would covering it in fabric and using magnetic tape work? Attach the tape side to the fabric (maybe even a few stiches) .

That’s a great idea I might have to try that. I have been camping a lot without window covers and haven’t had any issues but that might change once it gets cold out.

Thank you! I will definitely be working on the audio. There was construction in our neighborhood while I was taking some of the clips so I tried turning the volume down so that noise wasn’t as loud but it definitely made me way quieter as well.

Clearly you love to camp and take video and you should keep doing that. That being said look at the view count for your first video building the camper in the truck compared to all your other videos and I'm sure this one will be your #2 in a matter of time. You're definitely onto something with the DIY videos!

Yea I really didn’t expect that to happen it’s crazy. Luckily I do like working on the truck camper and I plan to keep tinkering with it over time and treating it out so hopefully people enjoy that.

I just went in my Amazon and the lights I have say currently unavailable but there are a bunch of options I just searched USB led light strips.
