I just built two of these in 4.5 days. That 5 minute video lulled me into a false sense of how quickly that was accomplishable! But they look great and make our dining table feel very welcoming (and allowed for a higher capacity than normal chairs). Thanks man!

I know you did this years ago but I just found your site. I made this bench and it came out awesome. I made mine a little smaller though. 40” long and I didn’t have the nail gun. Just used glue only and it is strong as an ox. Now everyone wants one. Thank you for this great video AND the little tip on filling the holes with sawdust! It’s perfect!!!

Looks just great! I especially like the finish color. Just a quick comment: I think that the first long beam should be all the way through and legs should come under it. Because the whole bench is sitting on four bottom feet and they are under first legs.

I have to hand it to you. You make it look way to easy. I built one today and took much longer then I expected and was difficult to get all the legs square and lined up properly. Then I had gaps and it took tons of filler and sanding. But it is a great bench and it looks great. Thanks!

Love this build, simple but elegant. Might be a stupid question, but if I wanted to make the total length 8', what would those length cuts be?
@johnsonfamily889 Жыл бұрын
Just reading through the comments, he milled off 1/8" per side, or 1/4" total from each leg. Actual width is going to be 3 1/4" per leg. So, if your going 8' (or 96") then your shorter ones would be 6 1/2" shorter or 89 1/2". I figured this out because Im going to do exactly this tomorrow. :)

Cool idea. I’ll go get more glue. Pro tip- If you don’t break the habit of putting your hand behind the work while you’re firing nails, you’re going to have to learn the hard way. I know they were short finishing nails, but just like gun safety, habits man... I saw a dude put a long brad through his finger when it followed the grain and shot out the side.
