Thinking about quickly finding the blank time to delete on the video, a third servo could rotate a colour blind to cover the lens when both sensors are off. You just have to look for and remove frames that are all one colour. I don’t know if some video editing software might be able to do this automatically. I know it is a bit of a crude method but just following the KISS design approach 🤪😁🤓. If you use the dash cam from your previous video you could drop the 5v input when both sensors are off and it would stop recording when no one about. Nice video thanks.

Funny I was sitting on the toilet this morrning just after posting and I was think how perfect the SJ5000 would have been for this mount. I could have driven it right off the arduino. It would have been really clean and super simple. I do really love you paper idea! it is simple and would totally work. I don't think I would even try to do it in editing software. If you change your view to thumbnails in explorer it would would be obvious when the sheet was in front of the lense. I wonder if the same effect could be achieved by placing a few really bright colored LED just out of view of the camera and turning them on when the room went still. What you really need a easy way to know which frames to get rid of.

Sitting on the toilet, too much information lol👍🏻

I saw a video yesterday about modifying a GoPro Karma controller to extend the range of the Drone, but there was no info on where to get the parts. If you have time it would be so cool to see if it’s something you’d be interested in doing/ getting more info on. Keep up the creativity!!! 🤙🏼

Just checked out the video. That thing looks really neat although I must stay I have never really had a problem with range with my Phantom 3. I do not have a Karma, I was slow to buy in and did not have the funds for one when it launched.

That's exactly what I was looking for. If you put the motion sensor on top of a cylinder rod would it be able to track 360 i guess and have the rod twist and point the camera that way.. I was thinking I want to learn all this stuff. My dad, his da and my moms brother were engineers and I wish I had of learned from them as a kid. Learn to make a radio out of a piece of stale bread..

One of the things I'd use it for would be a security system with a small micro camera.. people think it's a flag, meanwhile its tracking them. Can the motion sensor pinpoint the location of the movement and track it effectively I guess but I'm sure you can now in 2022..

Hey Kyle I already have a gopro hero session and I was wondering which one should I get if i needed another one (I also don't want to have to take a gimbal around with me )

HERO5 or HERO6 they are both awesome and easy to set up and use. HERO6 is a bit better but also much more expensive.

Its not that hard to implement start/stop timelapse with Arduino, the problem is that it requires Wifi on the GoPro and you know it drains the battery quickly.

This is a quick untested proof of concept: gist.github.com/KonradIT/3ae7b68498122f71f49c812400205588 , requires the WiFi module for Arduino as well as WiFi ssid/pass set up

Wow!!! I am impressed. I have some time this weekend I will try to test this code out. I do not have a Wi-Fi module, so I might take me a bit to get it sorted. Thanks for sharing, I may reach out to you in a few days for help.
