Thank you so much for this! I've been wanting to make a backpack for long time but making the shoulder straps has always stopped me because it seems so complicated. You should exactly how it supposed to be done. Now all I have to do is make some patterns and start. Thank you!

Neat! I use the same tehnique for inserting the foam! But I use silnylon sock, it is less friction than plastic bag. Try turning the straps inside-out from the bottom first next time. It is faster.

I really enjoy your videos. As I am starting with DIY and MYOG they are really helpful for me. Would it be possible to add a PDF with the dimensions or - even better - some kind of template? Anyhow: You do a great job!

Thank you for your watching and comment! I’m sorry but I don’t think of sharing the patterns freely for now. I don’t want to be used in commerce. If you need my advice or review for your patterns, please DM to my Instagram account @nentawk or Twitter account @BackpackRSR. I think that tracing a product in shape around you is helpful for first step.

@@BackpackResearcher Thank you for you offer. That is really nice. Unfortunatly I do not unterstand your language so I am not able to read the letters on the patterns. I just thougt that those are the dimensions. But maybe it means something totally different ;-)

Thank you very much for these Videos. Now I'm thinking of making my own backpack, one more project for the list xD. Maybe I can find a Makerspace that has a sewing machine near me. But I think it will take a long time to make a backpack.

@BackpackResearcher
@BackpackResearcher 2 жыл бұрын

Good day, Could you please share what sewing machine you use? Mine does not want to go through the foam :(
@BackpackResearcher
@BackpackResearcher 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! My sewing machine is Adler 69, cylinder arm industrial sewing machine, made in West Germany. If your machine can’t sew a thick workpiece, you may sew the webbing only with a top fabric of the shoulder strap (not sewing through the all parts) before making the strap in a tube-shape.

Thank you for your comment. This is a polyethylene sheet, Belporen, used for bag core parts. I mentioned it at 1:24. And I used it for a core part in the other videos. Please check it out. great job, one question, what density of foam did you use in kg / m3?
@BackpackResearcher
@BackpackResearcher 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Regarding the form I used in this video, the form at the body side is density = 30 kg/m3, Shore C hardness = 9 HS, and the form at the outer side is 107 kg/m3, 30 HS. It’s the measurement results from cut samples including measurement errors. Please try to find your suitable specs!
