I definitely am doing the same this Christmas. When I lived in the city , I was your typical consumer to the max and now living in the countryside, I have fallen in love with nature and want to make use of what it naturally offers . Thank you for sharing this.

I live near the Chesapeake Bay. I find the best natural items to make Christmas decor. In my yard I have beautiful vines, berries from my winterberry bushes and pine cones from the pine trees.

Came across you today whilst planning our natural Christmas tree for next year. We aim to undertake some guerrilla decorating on a community evergreen tree where people can enjoy natural things and perhaps take something from it without it leaving a footprint on the area and it will be augmented with some bird food items. You have provided us some wonderful ideas, for which I offer my appreciation. I love your approach the inherent gentleness in your presentations. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts, ideas and family with us. God Bless you and yours. CC P.s you have a new sub here in the Snowy North East of Scotland.

I'm dehydrating cranberries for our tree's garland, along with lemons, oranges, grapefruit & apples, (cranberries take a week!!) I'm also making our hearth garland from our pine tree trimmings & baked pine cones to open them. I'll also add the cinnamon & clove baked ornaments, strung on twine. I hope this turns out, I've never had a tree like this.

I forgot to add, I'm using a bunch of rustic looking bells of various sizes & types. My star is from grapevine & I may use some lacy ribbon on the tree. I also plan to place candles within the garland on the hearth. Oh, and I'm guessing you didn't dehydrate your cranberries. That's what i came here. Instructions said it could take 30 hrs, but I'm on day 2....

Hi! That all sounds amazing. Isn't it fun to make your own decorations. It's so satisfying and beautiful. No I didn't dehydrate the cranberries. They kind of shrivel up on their own.
